Sizes of kids...

Are your kids bigger, smaller or average for their age? I was hanging out with my neighbor yesterday. She has 2 kids that are almost 4 and 3 1/2 months old. Her 4 year old is big for her age and is as big as my 5 year old who is big for his age. They are both an inch taller then my 6 year old daughter who is pretty small for her age. My 6 year old only weighs 34lbs and wears a 5 slim or a 6 slim jeans and a 5/6 or 6/6x shirt depending on the style and how big she wants it. My 5 year old son weighs 45lbs and wears a 6/7 pants and a 7/8 shirt. My 4 year old daughter is like 5 inches shorter then her friend who is a month younger then her. She is also only 34lbs and wears a 4T pants and 4/5 shirt. All of my girls are small for their age, at least compared to other kids I have seen their age. My son is a little bit big for his age. But the biggest shocker was how small my baby is. She was 15lbs and 27" at her 6 month checkup. I was told she was very tall and very skinny for her age. She will be 8 month next week and my friend's baby will be 4 months on Friday. He is the exact same size as my 8 month old. Actually he weighs several pounds more then her, lol. It was so cute watching them together but it was hard to remember that he was still a little guy that can't sit on his own. My baby kept reaching over and trying to steal his pacifier because they have the same kind.

My oldest is tall and skinny, he was alway on the slim side (14). My middle son is shory and stocky (13). NOw my youngest is just like my oldest and he is 3. The scary thing is my 9 year old nephew is as tall as my middle son. I am always being asked if my youngset is 4 or 5. He is in a 4 slim (that is hard to find)and my middle son is in a 32 waist and a 25 lenght, also very hard to find. I know how you feel, I am still waiting on my midle son to catch up woth the rest of his class. My oldest so is 5'5" at least and wears a 30 waist and need 32 lenght. He looks as if a good wind could blow him away, weight in at 130 lbs. with almost no body fat. We know that because he wrestles for school. just goes to show you that they comes in all shapes and sizes. As long as the growth is steady and the doctor is not worried they are good to go.

Your son is almost as big as my husband, lol. He is 5'10" and about 160lbs, lol. He was wearing a 32x32 when I met him but I finally convinced him to move up to a 34 waist because his pants were so tight. Men, lol. I keep waiting for my 6 year old to hit a growth spurt. Her last check up was for her kindergarten physical. She was almost 5 and weighed 32lbs which put her in the 5th percentile for her weight. Her doctor then said that her weight curve was starting to fall off (it was steady) and he would like her back every year to check her weight. She does eat a lot. I require them to have a vegetable if I make one or we are at the buffet place. But she doesn't like a lot of meats. She is by far the pickiest of the 3 older kids. Finding clothes has been the hardest. When she was 4 even the 3Ts were too big on her. She was still wearing 24 months shorts and her and her sister share summer clothes and shirts now. I finally found that Wal-mart carries their own brand of jeans for girls that have slims (the only brand of girls jeans I have found that I could afford). I was so excited to find 4slims, lol. Now she wears mostly adjustable waist pants from Target but I have to pull those things all the way in to fit her. And she has long legs which makes finding skirts impossible. To fit her length I have to buy the size she should be in (6/6x) but then I have to take the waist in about 3 inches. If I buy to fit her waist (which is still a 4) they are so short they show her underwear if she bends over, lol. I have started buying skirts that are a long style (supposed to be below the knee) but buy them in a small size so they end up at her knee instead of below them. It is crazy. I had the opposite problem with my son. He went into the boys sizes (4/5) when he was 3 1/2 and those sizes didn't have the kind of cartoon characters he wanted on his clothes. Poor kid. I hate buying clothes for the kids.
