What instrument can you play/want to learn to play? I play the Alto Sax, but I kinda want to learn how to play a trumpet.

Me Playing the Sax - This is me playing the sax!
That's great I play the alto sax too. My main instrument is the Tuba. I went to school for music for 2 years before finally quitting. I wish I had stayed.

I studied music education at Lebanon Valley College. You are never too small to play the tuba. i played with a little guy from Japan he was about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 100 pounds. I am not very big myself. I am 5 foot 9 inches and weigh 150.

Interesting horn choices, that. I would love to play the tuba, but seeing as I am right about as big as one, I don't think that would work all that well. What school did you go to when you studied music?

I played the flute from 5th grade through 12th. I thought I still had a flute, but when I last moved I couldn't find it. I'd love to play it again some time - not that I was any good!

Oh, I had to practice just to be horrible! But I loved being in band in High School, I met a lot of great friends that way.

So true. I'm in the band myself, and I wouldn't have had half the friends I do now, or do close connection if I hadn't done band.

Well hey, it doesn't really matter how good at it you are; after all, it's all up to how much you practice. I think it's the love for playing music that counts.

seems like a lot of people know how to play the piano. i guess it's a good starting and general musical instrument. I ended up leaving the instrument after I got sick of keeping track of both hands.... Then I played the alto. Which uses both hands. Oh well.

I used to play both instruments when I was in the school band. Also played the B flat baritone. Played the violin in the orchestra but very badly so they kicked me out. Also play the piano and the guitar...both for my own enjoyment.

Wow. You're quite the multi-instrumentalist. Do you still play the sax at all? or do you just play the piano and the guitar?

I'm sorry, but I'm not too knowledgeable about guitar playing styles.... What is the difference between a Hawaiian guitar and a Spanish guitar?

I play the trumpet in my spare time right now, but I used to play a ton in high school and throughout grade school. It is really fun to play and I encourage you to try it. With trumpets, they are great solo instruments, and are fun to play if you get in a band because you will get a lot of solos/duets in a piece of music if you play trumpet. I would love to play the drums- it sounds and looks fun and the drummers are always the ones that get the girls :). You can email me at packer.backer4@yahoo.com if you want tips on learning the trumpet.
