What paint medium do you use? i like accrylics. water paints are too hard to use.

Hi! I would love to learn how to paint. If you don't my my asking, how did you learn to paint? Are you self-taught or did you take classes or learn from a kit? Which do you think would be the best way for a beginner to learn to paint? Thanks! :-)

hi, thats great you want to learn to paint. It must be practiced alot but you must also have the talent for it. I've always been aritstic so it came naturally to me. There are classes i took, in highschool and i also took a class in the art museum in NY. these are ways to improve your skills. i would tell you as a beginer with the desire to do it to go to an art store and buy some paint some brushes of differnt sizes and some paper and just paint away. it will come to you as you do it. i hope you give it a try. When you paint a picture you can post it here .

Wow! Your picture is really great! Thanks for the suggestions. I have seen some kits at places like Staples. I think I'll look for one of those and maybe check the local library for books about painting. I agree with you, I'm not too anxious to do work with watercolors, at least not while I'm learning! Thanks for the encouragement! :-)

I like sketching. But painting is as fun. I like acrylics also, but water paints are nice used while adding color to a sketch.

I love to paint...I'm not great at it mind you but its a great outlet for me....I'm a fan of acrylics myself but I've never used oil or water paints so I really dont know whether or not I'd like them

I'm the other way round, I find acrylics tricky but enjoy wtaercolours, mostly I do botanical illustration specialising in herbs and poisonous plants!

i painted flames on a car with camilion paint once. it didnt comeout too good cuz i didnt have a shop to protect it from dust and dirt. but it was cool anyways.alright. thanks for the response.. :)

I do enjoy painting, I like to use glazes on ceramics. I have drybrushed alot with acyrlics and have many beautiful pieces. Unfortunately due to the dollar stores the ceramic shops are becoming scarce as not many people have ceramics as a hobby now.

When I was a child I painted some picture, but now i prefer listening music and sports!
