Showing up on myLot looking for a handout?

That's not going to get it done folks. If we all work together and think creatively this will be a much better place for all of us. For those that are serious about earning from this or any website for that matter, you have got to take it seriously. Put some time and effort into everything that you write and we will all be rewarded in the end. Who is with me?

I agree, I have seen a lot of people just spamming the posts looking for quick money it klogs up the forum. Mods yeah can delete the spam they see but with so many posts every second it is impossible so I think everyone needs to try and don't spam, only reply to a topic that actually interests you ect...

It very difficult with almost 42,000 users and growing. The number of spammers and people looking to make a buck seems to outweigh the rest of us. Hopefully with the new payment algorythm things will change.

I have been trying to post longer posts and avoid answering with 2 words. One discussion I posted someone answer with this really long response that looked like they copied it from another website and it didnt even relate to what my discussion was about.

I've had a few of those as well, and I can tell it was copied because it messed up the whole formatting of the myLot site when I looked at my responses.

I've noticed that a lot of answers come from en.wikipedia.org/, and not all of those answers give the proper credit.

I've posted some thoughtful questions but looking back at them, most require you to have knowledge of a specific subject like aviation, ballet, etc. Since I tend to think big, I'm having a hard time coming up with middle of the road questions. I want to keep it real, yet keep it simple for the majority of myLot's users.

Hi! I have noticed the same thing. I have posted questions about business, starting a home business, creating a website, about sewing, etc. A few kind people have gone out of their way to help me, but largely, my posts have gone unanswered. Guess it's hard to find the people who can address our issues! :-)

I try to ask open ended questions. The kind that would come up in conversations, but maybe a little bit more personal. There are only so many answers to general knowledge questions that you can give, where as when you ask personal questions the possibilities are endless. What I have found so far is that peopl eare shying away from teh personal questions more, either that or they aren't getting noticed.

They may have also been buried. Now that tings are changing, maybe you will get more exposure for your topics and the people that have something to offer to you may be able to find them.

I try to post something more than a yes or no answer. Sometimes the topic does not call for more than that. I do hate when someone posted something completely opposite of the topic. I give them a negative rating. I have several discussions I started and havnt got any responces at all, and they are much nbetter than what flavor ice cream you like, I do have some of those too :)

Here is an idea, but bear with me First we all put in our intrest a nonsense name like 328foxknobs or even better Real discussions Then post messages with meaning under the intrest of real discussions If we look in our interests for good discussions we will see those and can post others What do you think?

That seems like an awful lot of work to try and sort out the discussions. I find it best to use the my friends discussion as well as check out the discussion of people who are taking the time to respond to mine.

sometimes its so hard to make long replys with questions like "which do you like better\/ apple or oranges?" or "which do you like better brad pitt or tom cruise?" it only takes one word answers in most cases altho on the actors i might try to say why but pples and oranges or black or white? lol hard to respond sometimes

Responding to those one word questions isn't going to really get you much of anything though. The rewards are greater for the discussion that you can put long answers to. It make take you 3 or 4 minutes to type your respone, but it's a much more productive 3 or 4 minutes. Try it for a day and I bet you'll see an increase in your earnings.

It's great when we can actually have a discussion about a subject instead of just answering a simple question with a one or two word answer. You get to exercise your brain and increase your typing speed.

I think everyone must remmeber there are people showing up at different times.New people who think their posts are o.k becuase they have not seen them here yet, etc. This is a great site but it is not the gestapo and should remain fun and exciting.I agree with the post also that there is abuse and I do get tired of the stupid post and discussions. But,we have to also think of the ages of people on here.A person in there teens and 20" may want to discuss things older ones do not like.So what I am saying is please be fair to all and enjoy each other.

I see your point, however some things are a little excessive in the one word answer department. When reading the guidelines that is not the intent. How do you encourage the younger folks to participate at a more commited level? How many of them are here to make a buck? What I would like to see is opinions supported. If someone like's nike's more then adidas, tell us why.

I agree with you 100% buddy, there are so many people who just post a load of one liners, thinking they will actually be allowed to do so. This is not on point to the topic, but I think it would be good if mylot let you have a signature. People could put a coupel links there, then there would be no reason to make new threads about other websites.

That's a good idea that you have there, but would it slow myLot from loading? If we are able to eliminate all of the junk posts then it could be effectve.

Yeah, I had a few going well about my blogs and fantasy football, but they just kind of die out and you don't get any posts on them. Helps when I want/need traffic

Well that is one way to drive traffic, but here it's more about making money through myLot. The other sites you can run through blogmad or autosurfmonster and they will get more then enough traffic that way. Using those two alone I am getting over 300 visits per day.

Just keep at it. first think of something that interests you and then ask it in such a way that it causes others to formulate an intelligent answer. It is really that simple.

I have seen many of the members going ahead of me by just posting short and in high volume and that had changed my habit and I am thankfull to mylot to make this change. And I am sure that we will have better topics and better discussion.

Many of us are saying the same thing. I myself am new here but was getting discouraged by the amount of junk that was clogging up the discussions. This appeare to be a big step on mylot's part to make this a successful community where we all can benefit.

i must admit, when i first came on this site i started some dodgy conversations such as of the nike or adidas, coke or pepsi type, now i have been on the site a while (and i like it a lot) i dont start conversations unless i have something to say (i may post the odd joke or two if it's funny, but thats it), for the moment at least i prefer to answer other peoples discussions until i think of a good one to start. I have had some of the users that copy & paste, some that respond off topic and some that promote their personal referral links, this annoys me and I would ideally like this site to go on and on, so i will do my utmost from here on to ensure this.

I was like you when I first started, posting the shotty topics. When we first sign up for something we have a tendance to observe first before jumping in. If you were a first timeobserver, that is exactly what you saw, so you figured it must be the trend and went along with it. Now we can clearly see what makes the difference here at mylot. Quality discussions are being pushed to the top. That will only benefit those of us willing to put in the work.

This isn ot the only payin gsite out there, but it does better to reward quality then any other site that I have seen. Sharing ideas an learning is always a good thing. It is always better to learn from the experiences of others before trying something new for yourself.

Yes I am with you. I am feeling so much better writing posts here today as there is more quality to the topics than earlier. Its important that good topics be listed otherwise we were forced to reply to some topics that were not of good quality. Forums are meant to increase your knowledge and expand your mind and till such time there are no quality topics there can be no fun to the forum.

I completely hate when people respond with such a short answer, or completely irrelevant spamful answer. They are annoying, and ridicolus it is very annoying to see answers like people have posted "ok yeah i dont know" or these long answers people have copied and pasted like someone who has been going around copying and pasting about grapes as an answer. If you want to earn money then you need to earn it.

It looks as though those days may be well behind us and for that I am very glad. I much prefer the way things have gone today. I had a chance to respond to at least 20 other topics that otherwise might have gone unnoticed.
