the sooner the better as ones life can take off and you forget about the saving and planning. look into your options and start now. in your job , if they have the 401k, look into it and see if its for you. you can never lose by finding these things out.

I don't think I will ever get to retire. I Have children in college right now and that's really expensive. I will probably have to work until I'm 80 years old. LOL unless I can make these online things work a little faster for me. I didn't make the cut off but I expected that because I had only been doing this for a week.

Heck no! But I have been at my job for 9 1/2 years now and have a fund set up. I have a good 30 years to go before I get to be lucky enough to think about that. I don't know if I could completely quit working. I think I would always have to have something to do, even if it was just being a greeter at WalMart or something.

I'm definitely ready, but my bank account isn't!!! I actually have another 20 years or so of "productive" years left in the workforce. I'll probably never retire totally - I love what I do.

I am basically retired now, when I was made redundant they gave us a course and said depression woul hit us after awhile, well I am still waiting for that to happen...I never looked at it as "I am longer needed" as they seemed to think would affect us I looked at it as " I'm free"....retirement can be fantastic if you let it be.

I am half way ready. The more I think about it though the more I think I may never really retire. I hope to draw the retirement fund, but I think I would always want to do something part-time. There are days I wish I didn't have to work, then I talk to other retirees and they tell me how boring it is after a year or so and they wished they had stayed on longer. Now they are too old to get a job, so this makes me think I will always work even if it is just part-time unless my health fails me.
