If your daughter came to you and asked you to help her get some form of birth control, would you?

I most certainly would and infact have.My daughter came to me saying she was sexually active (she was 17) and asked me about birth control I made an appointment with the doctor to get her on the pill.We already had one pregnancy scare and don't want to go through it again!

Good for you. I applaud you and others that have open and honest relationships with their children. I think it is the only way to raise children these days.

Thank you, being a single mother I think it is essential to have an open and honest relationship with both my children.I have a son about to turn 16 and I hope he also comes to me when he becomes sexually active.

I would deffinately help her get birth control. Having a baby at a young age would rune her life. I would be proud of my daughter that she came and talked to me about that.

Yes I would. I got pregnant as a teen and I would not want my daughter to go through that.

Definitely, and I will probably encourage my son to go on the pill when he becomes a teenager as well.

Well I'd feel very happy and confident that my daughter feels like she can come to me with these things. Depending on her age, we'd have a little talk and possibly get her the birth control.

I would most definately help her. The fact that she is even asking me for the help on something so important is a very big step for a teenage female. I would praise her for having the responsibility ot ask for help with something as important.

depends, how old is she? My mom pressured me into birthcontroll at 14 or 15 i cant eactly remember, but i told her I wasnt sexually active but i really lost my virginity at 13. So why not help her out if there gfonna be doing it be smart about it, no teen pregnancys, or life long diseases.

I hope my daughter does not feel pressured by me to start birth control but, you can't predict the future and when her first time will be so I want her prepared for anything.

Definitely!!!!! I can say this because when I was a teen, I asked my mother about getting on birth control. And even though I agree with her now that I was too young to be on birth control, I would still do it for my daughter even if I thought she was too young. Because no matter what, when she feels that she is ready to take that step, it is not going to be my decision but hers. And if my mother would have helped me get birth control, I would not have gotten pregnant at the age of 14 yrs. Young huh? I told you I was. But...I tried to take control of the situation by asking my mother to help me. Not saying it was her fault...but had she helped me. I am certain that I would not have gotten pregnant at such a young age. So definitely, I would help my daughter. But I would also make sure that we talked about her decision too. I would not want her to take that step unless it was for her and not for HIM.

We watched a movie on Lifetime called 15 and pregnant, and it just made us cry. Hopefully my daughter will see that it is not nice all the time.

Depends on what age she is at and if it is at a decent age then I would help her.I would rather her come to me first then to sneak behind my back and possibly end up pregnant.

well yes because you dont want her to get pregnant but you do need to share with her that it is important that she wait for the right person and that she should wait till shes married but still put her on the pill it just takes one time and she can be preg.
