well what is the age of ur cat, my dog used to chew shoes, bags earlier, now it is fine, i heard from somebody that in this way they furnish their teeth and remove their allergy of teeth..but not sure

Hard to know why, since you can not ask your cat. : ) Perhaps the cat can feel some smell of food or something else it likes. Try to give your cat some yeast tablets, it will probably prefer them instead, all cats I have tested love them.

Put them away! My cats just like to play with them and lay on them, but not chew. The female cat does like to chew paper though.
