Do you have any? I currently don't work and don't have any. I've tried to take care of myself so that I can avoid any hospital or doctor office visits. If you don't have insurance tell me what you do.

When I didn't have health insurance I would go to the state clinic that was run out of a local hopsital. Since it is income based, I would have to pay little or nothing out of pocket. Once I got health insurance I still went there to get my birth control cheap (.20/pack). If you are in college, many campuses have a nurse that you can go see when you are sick. There are also plans you can buy that are reduce costs plans that aren't insurance but instead of paying $160 for a visit you only pay a percentage for the visit (usually like 25%) and they usually come with dental, vision, and perscription. Even though I have insurance I carry one of the plans (DentaMax) because if a perscription isn't covered by my medical insurance I still get it at a discounted rate. It only costs me $50 a year.

Great information. I'll have to look up this state clinic that you speak of. It sounds really good. I could probably use it since the winter seaon is closing in.

I have state insurance, but I do remember what it is like not having health insurance. Go to your local public assistance office to see if they have a plan for you. Some states have different types of plans for different situations.

Thanks for the offer of this valuable information. I have checked out "free" clinics. But then they started charging, and I couldn't pay. They screwed me over one time. So that has discouraged me from going there again.
