Ever heard of the Most Spoiled Cat Contest? An 8-year-old cat in Pennsylvia...

...won the 2nd place award for 2006. It's owner says that the cat likes a delightful afternoon catnip tea with warm apricot sour cream scones and some freshly whipped cream. She takes her tea while her owner plays Bach's Goldberg Variations on the piano. The owner ignores the phone and doorbell while kitty is sleeping so that she doesn't disturb her. And several times a week the cat is hand-fed thinly sliced wild salmon and other fish. Personally, what I read about the 1st place winner doesn't compare to this one. This contest is put on every year by Cat Fancy magazine. So what do you think? Will your pampered feline be next year's winner?

Yes, it is totally crazy. These cats are treated better than most people I know. Their owners must have no life. Thanks for your opinion!

OMG! I thought my cats were spoiled, but they are neglected compared to this cat. ROFL.

Isn't it nice to realize how normal we really are compared to some other people! Thanks for answering.

I think this goes along with the "love your animal too much" bit. There should be a limit.

Oh yes, one of mine can. She loves pancakes, and will jump up on the table and grab it right out of my mouth to eat it.

I thought I spoiled my cat..but that's insane. I wouldn't admit to being that cat obsessed. Seriously, the person who doesnt answer the door out of fear of waking their cat up?? needs therapy.

I disagree with all the negativity here. This owner is top of the trees..a classy person. That's obviously just the way they live and the cat is very beloved and gets treated like royalty accordingly. They probably have a maid and gardener and chauffeur as well. I'm sure the owner wouldn't be hoovering, cleaning toilets or going to the supermarket. It's prolly all relative. My cat eats the same home made food as the dog. Loves to lick the juice off tomato and beetroot, eats smoked oysters and blue brie...mostly when I'm not looking lol. He also likes my coffee and is partial to ice cream.

Wow.. that is a really spoiled cat. My grandmother carries her dog everywhere and puts on matching outfits, make her special water with ice cubes in it.. and I thought that was bad.. gesshhh

I'm afraid that my kitty would not qualify. She get fed in her dish and that it. She also just gets kitty food. with an occasional treat from one of the kids. She dosen't even have her own bed. She gets kicked off mine when I go to bed. She could stay if she would lay still. Any way my kitty is not a pampered one.

And I was so worried that my cat was spoiled. I think I will not be worrying any more. I don't play her music, and she can forget getting any of those other things. That's pretty crazy.

That's so crazy. Why in the world would anyone give their cat tea with a apricot sour cream scone and whipped cream and listening to Bach. That's going way too far. It's also crazy that she ignores the world for the cat. I would never do that. My cat gets the cat food from the store, listens to the tv and to me talk on the phone during their nap. I can't imagine the 1st place winner. My cats would never make it. They're like the poor cats of the contest. lol
