Have you been forced to wait a long time for an appointment?

Many times! LOL.. It was my 17th birthday and I was gonna treat 10 of my friends to a movie.. instead of me enjoying my birthday, I had to wait for them for 1 1/2 hours! What's worse was some of them didn't even greet me a happy birthday.. It really ruined my day and I went home sober.. *tears*

I had a car accident over the summer and needed to see an orthopedic doctor after some neck pain. Talk about a pain in the neck! I waited for HOURS both times I went. It got kind of sad, really, and I was very glad that I wasn't working full time anymore because my former (control freak) boss would have been trying to charge my vacation time (even though I was salaried and worked well over 40 hours per week) or make me "make up my time" after hours. After the first visit I left a scathing response card about how it seemed meaningless to have scheduled an appointment time when it seemed to be standard operating procedure to wait and wait and wait. They clearly either don't read them or don't care because that was months ago and I never heard a peep from them about it.

I know it's bad to sit and wait for the doctor when you hurt. I hope your neck is better. I hurt my hip pulling a patient up in bed 15 years ago and it still hurts all the time. Thanks for your response.

I hate when it's time for my daughter to go for a check up or something, we sit in the waiting room for hrs sometimes..I can't stand it, but most important when she is real sick and we bring her to the dr she usually gets in right away.

It's good that you get in to see the doctor right away when she is sick. I just don't like to wait. That's why if I'm a work-in I go in the late afternoon. I would rather be a work-in. Thanks for the response.

yes, I hate going tot he dr, you always have to sit there 2-3hrs and more waiting, even if you have an appointment. I am not patient when it comes to things like that.

I'm not a patient person at all. When I was in Petra everything was so laid back. No one gets is a hurry. That was hard for me. I want to do it and do it now. Thanks for your response.

Yes, that has happened to me on a number of occassions. One of the times that I was really mad and couldn't keep it from showing was when I had to take my infant son to an orthopedic surgeon some years ago. They put me in a room after waiting about 30 minutes in the waiting room. Then I had to wait another hour and a half in the exam room. I was furious. My child practically screamed the entire time we were there. It was miserable.
