Hi there. I am in the middle of a really frustrating situation with my little one. Hes stopped taking milk (hes 4 months) and seems in constant pain. Hes not very sick but I can hear him gulping hour after feeds as if hes swallowing milk that has found its way back up his throat. He doesn't usually seem too bothered by it but hes definitely uncomfortable and in pain somewhere and I can't figure out where. Would you be able to tell me how you knew it was reflux that your little one has?

I realized he had it when he wasn't keeping anything down. When he burps does anything come up? Reflux causes heartburn, and makes them very uncomfortable. Take him to the doctors... They do have medicine for reflux and it DOES work wonders. Keep me updated.

Also another thing I left out, they may tell you to start thickening up his formula up with cereal, and that is okay. We started doing that with me son EARLY... Like at 2 1/2 months? And he was 7 weeks early, so he wasn't old at all, and it REALLYYYY helped out.

Thanks amarines! You know you are the only person I have come across who has actually been able to give me definite signs to watch for!? My little one used to be on Nutramigen and he was sick all the time but not bothered by it. I moved him onto a thicker based milk and hes hardly sicky at all and when he is its just a little and again, hes never upset by it. I am wondering whether hes not suffering from reflux at all but just very bad wind! I just dont know of any other babies who have suffered as badly as he does with wind!! Thanks so much for your help! Take care! By the way - you little one is a really sweetie!

When my daughter was alive, I had to give her reflux meds twice a day. If the meds run out, she usually throw up. I hated to see the my daughter go through it. It got better after she turned 2.
