Is Enya still together? Are they touring? / myLot

This is one of my all-time favorite groups! Yet, I've never heard of them being on tour. Does anyone know if and when they will be touring?

Ive seen Enya live videos A couple of times .. Sad to say though i like her better on her records than live...theres something i just cant put a hold on about her live performances that i dont like!!!

Thanks for responding. Some groups/singers just don't do good live shows. I'd still LOVE to see her in person, however.

The "something" missing in her live performances is due to the fact that on her recordings it is her voice singing every part. In the studio they record each part separately and then multi-layer her tracks one over the other. In live performance it is impossible for her to sing every part, so they use the recording of all layers except the "front voice" which is what she sings live.

Enya is one person - not a group. She has the assistance of Nicky and Roma Ryan, who help produce her music. She uses a multi-layered "overdub" effect that layers her voice together as she sings each different part. As far as I know Enya only does select performances, and I have never heard of her going on "tour", except maybe in her native Ireland. You may also enjoy Clannad, as lead singer Mai're Brennan is Enya's older sister.

I was about to say this--yes, Enya is a person, so I would hope that she's still "together"! She does seem almost reclusive at times, releasing an album and then being out of sight for a few years. Didn't she just have an album a year or two ago? I like Clannad and some of the other Irish/Celtic groups, and try to listen to some podcasts with this type of music.

This is a really good question, I haven't heard anything from them in quite awhile. My favorite Enya song is "only time", that's the only one that I really know of actually.

I love Enya too, she is great, she is a one man band really, sings all harmonies and plays all instruments herself I believe...a very beautiful sound...
