Do you get nervous when speaking to a large crowd? Have you ever thought why? Some say that you are afraid not to insult someone by mistake or that someone might make fun of you and the whole crowd starts to laugh.I know i get nervous but i can deal with it.What about you? Do you get nervous? If not, tell us your secret.

I hate public speaking because, as a child, I was picked on a lot. Now, if I'm in front of a group, I think they are trying to find something wrong with me and it makes me nervous.

If you get nervous while speaking in public, it could be due to lack of confidence and negative self esteem. In order to get rid of negative self-images, try this technique: Think of a negative image like performing poorly on stage, then imagine taking a match stick and burning the negative image. See in your mind's eye, the negative image being burnt to ashes. Repeat it a few times. I think people get nervous because they are scared they will forget their lines or they will mess them up and people will laugh at them. They are just scared of embarassing themselves in front of such a large crowd of people. I used to make sure I was well prepared before making any speech. I used to go over it again and again so there was no chance I would forget anything.I still used to get nervous but once I started talking I was fine.
