why do people make such a long discussion ?

after the new algorithm, i have noticed that people are starting discussions that would take a lifetime to read. couldn't they do it briefly, everyone knows that content is needed but will you post your whole life story to start a discussion. do you think it is right or wrong?

Yeah, i totally agree. I open a discussion, the text there is too long to read and then i close it, as i do not respond to discussions i do not read. But some people have the habbit to read all of it.

Well, maybe some people on here feel they need to share a lot about the situation they are going thru. And to explain it to where people might be able to understand them more, they make it into a long post, or such which could be useful in other Writing sites more than this as well.

I think you are very right the long discussions are not really necessary that they would have been providing with the quality matter we are looking forward to.So I prefer that discussions can be of short lenght but with the best quality matter in it as it wont waste time too.

There are instances that you cant be brief on a discussion. I too tend to write long answers sometimes. I just cant help it. Its nice to read the discussion with full details than just a "touch and go". But if you are in a hurry and dont want to read long passages, you can skip answering. Its your choice. Not everybody can be to the point and give all details at the same time. I think its a talent.

I think questions that are too long are offputting to people trying to read them and will probably be the end of mylot! People need to be direct with their questions, making sure they are descriptive but not just rambling on to fill up space because this won't earn them much anyway! It also annoys me when people post a hugely long piece of writing pasted from somewhere else and then add 'what are your thoughts' onto the end.

i think mylot users are going to extremes earlier you were tired of very short questions like yes and no, now the trend is opposite now people are writing their whole life story in a discussion, i think we come here to discuss not to read stories. thanks for posting in the discussion.

If I post a long discussion it is because I feel it is needed. We are allowed to write a lot of words for a reason. If myLot did not want us to write long discussions, then they would not allow it. I wrote long & shorts discussions before the change. The meaningful long discussions are not spam. When people post articles they copied from other places, that is spam.

i didn't imply to you specifically. and a good discussion does not always has to be long. and if somebody does copy and paste an article from somewhere else will you be able to say it is original or not. thanks for posting in the discussion.

Hahaha I think that was normal, people will start to write nothing important to subject discussion to get qualified as quality. for me personaly I think that was qrong to write personal story in good discussions. example they write about what we don't even know like they story about anything. It just annoying for me and I usualy will read on the subject discussions without looking at the story.

yes, sometime the discussion beginning is too long, but the admin here on my lot also said you have to do quality post, but what does that actually mean. Is it more than just yes or no, or what?

Yes I have noticed this too. Some of the long discussions ae interesting but I feel I am being cheated in taking twice as long to read them just so I can respond. I am having to move on to shorter better quality ones so I too can make a little money. We don't even know if longer discussions are making more money!

i think discussion should be small and effective ,so that people cant live without replying to it , i am not saying that must be one liner like.... good morning or good evening but should be like that can pressure up the people to get involve even if they dont want.
