How many of you wear contact lenses? Do you have any 'pointers' before I go and get contact lenses?

Well, when you are going to purchase a contact lens make sure that you are very careful about it. Dont be careless. You have to take a lot of care for your lenses beofre going to sleep every night. You have to keep it in a solution else if you dont remove your lenses before sleeping they just go up on your eye lid which can be dangerous. Second thing is to avoid a lot of wind coming by your side else that will push contact lenses up in your eyes or you may loose it

Wow, I've been wearing contact lenses for almost 20 years, and have never had either of those things happen. My favorite kind are the disposables. You feel like you always have fresh, clean lenses in your eyes, and they don't cost any more than permanent ones. They also feel very comfortable. My husband has lasic surgery, but I don't have the courage to do it. You have to go without scratching your eyes for weeks afterwards, and I don't know if I'm capable of stopping myself.

I would have to say don't go get contact lenses. Look into getting Lasik Eye Surgery. It is the greatest thing. In the long run it is cheaper than contact lenses.

From what you say I can't see why anyone wouldn't get it done either.

To tell you the truth. I was so scared.. I was in the bathroom every 5 minutes before my surgery. LOL!!! But now I am so glad that I went through with it!

I wear contacts and have for many years. Have never had any problems and I wear the hard lenses. Eye doctor can determine which kind is better for you. Only important piece of advice I can give you is to be certain to keep your hands clean anytime you handle the lenses. Many infections begin with dirty hands. Eventually I'd like to have the Lasik surgery.
