OBEY Acts 2:38 OR GO TO HELL!!!!

shocked arent you? .. Yesterday at church my pastor was giving an illistration about a church he was working on and he said " You know People need to wake up and just see what they need to do in obeying Jesus and making it to heaven", he then said, we need to make a billboard that says "OBEY ACTS 2:38 OR GO TO HELL" It really opened my eyes into seeing that just one simple command that we disobey God can send us to hell ..yeah we can ask God to forgive us of our sins but that isnt gonna cut it with God because scripturally it says we need to turn from our sins in repentance and be baptised in the name of Jesus for our sins to even be remmited and then we need to recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost. If you cut one of those things out there isnt salvation as it is written. And that is just the beginning... Paul later states in Romans that we need to walk in the spirit and in Truth. So that tells us that we need to get the Holy Ghost as a requirement and to walk, which means to daily live in truth, and we know that God is Truth and he said be Holy for I Am Holy. SO, therefore we need to turn from our sins, get baptised in Jesus name, recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost and then put on holiness and then we have truely obeyed acts 2:38. God demands obedience and it is required for all to obey to even recieve the Holy Ghost as stated in acts 5:32..so no obedience no salvation. I just hope and pray everyone recieves this message well or hope I strike a nerve for you to study the message out.

Wow -- all that makes a simple thing seem very complicated. The only thing necessary to get to Heaven is to accept Jesus as your Savior. It's not all that hard. No matter of works (good or bad) will get you in to or keep you out of Heaven. Christ himself said "and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." (John 11:26)

So are you refuting my scriptural reference or are you saying that Jesus was lying when He said that?

If Jesus said "whoever lives and believes in me will never die" and you say that is not true, yes, you are refuting the words of Jesus. Was he correct or not? This is really very simple.

The verse reads: "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." what does it mean to you? I mean be 'baptized name of Jesus Christ'? what about the "gift of Holy Ghost"?

What about the thief on the cross next to Jesus' ? He was not baptized with water, nor was it ever recorded that he spoke in tongues, yet Jesus stated he would be with Him in paradise.

we must be baptsided in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins (blotting out) as it is written...all things are done in the name of Jesus Christ.. there is no other name given by which we must be saved. The Holy Ghost is Jesus' spirit the comforter, come to live within you as we are the holy temple of God. we know we have the holy ghost by its evidence given, which is speaking in tongues as the SPIRIT gives utterance. EVERY SINGLE TIME THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST WAS RECORDED TONGUES WAS THE INITIAL SIGN GIVEN. " and the holy ghost fell and they immediatley began speaking in other tongues"

Look Im not going to keep repeating myself, or argue with any of you. here is my website: http://apostolicpentecostaloneness.faithweb.com if you are really interested go there and read about it. But the main thing is JUST DO WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS, NOT MEN.

Then why was it that Jesus promised the thief who was being cruified beside him that he would be with him in paradise? I think many people do not come to Christ because someone makes it sound harder than it really is. His grace covers those who believe.

A different dispensation period. Ok. Would you say that not every salvation experience included tongues ? The eunich with Philip in Acts 8:26-40 was baptized with water only. And it isn't recorded that the prison keeper was even baptised with water. Should we just assume it was so ? Another thought - if tongues is so important, why is it mentioned as a 5th round choice, as one of the least gifts that the Spirit could give in I Corinthians 27-31 ? And then Paul continues with "The Love Chapter"....to me, more like "the Heart Chapter". :) In context, tongues were spoken in a language understood by part of a diverse congregation and always had an interpreter present, otherwise they shouldn't speak. In I Corinthians 14:27 & 28 it says "If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God." You really need to read the entire chapter 14. :) But, this discussion diverts the reader away from Christ.

It was a different dispensation period. The their on the cross was under the old law and had repented and knew exactly who Jesus was. The theif was a jew who fully knew the law and some speculate he may have been one that in the Time of john the baptist he recieved the baptism that john offered which was of their custom. as a part of their salvation ...yes even in the old testement they had to get baptised to be saved or atoned it was spoken of as a washing in their custom and it had to be done a certain way.

A little question: If there was in pacific ocean a continent discovered by no one and so not knowing anything about god's verb, suppose that in this continent there were 1 billion inhabitants, they would go to hell because they didn't know bible and they weren't able to get baptized? and so, how about all the people who lived before Jesus? Now even Church admit there's no place called "limbo" in which person who weren't baptized go... i think that too much persons interpretates too much literally holy books... this is the real problem!

Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."

Hi everyone: THe Lord thru the apostle paul exhort us at ephesians 4:23 "but that YOU should be made new in the force actuating YOUR mind, 24 and should put on the new personality which was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty" Now as we hear and " study the scriptures daily whether these things are so" the Spirit of the Word will continue to abound in us and will be the building blocks of our new bible trained conscience. Having said these I believed that God will judge us by our own defiance of our conscience and how God see whether we are seeking His help to give us strength to transform to the new personality. We just do all we can, to follow our bible trained conscience, We may even feel that we are not doing well, well in fact, having the conclusion that we are not performing well as a christian is a healty indication that we are online for life. For the truth is we are inperfect. we may even condemn ourselves but take heart, God said at John 3:20 "as regards whatever our hearts may condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things" . then the blood of Jesus will do the rest so that even though we feel that we are not worthy, then by virtue of the blood of Jesus we can approach God with freeess of speech and enjoy a secure relationship with God.
