Do you think health care costs are out of hand?

I was just wondering if anyone agrees with me. I think that they are way out of hand. My health insurance cut off the day before I had my daughter then two months later I had an emergency surgery which was not covered as well. The total of the two bills together: over $17,000. That was more than what my husband and I both made the year these incidents occurred. To this day we are still trying to pay them off as well. We tried getting help with the bills but the state said we made to much for them cover it and when we were applying for private help the person we were going through lost all of our paperwork. We're thinking of applying again, but still, isn't that a bit much?

I think health care costs are totally out of hand especially for something that people really need. My mom has Kaiser insurance for herself and her 4 kids, and it costs $900.00 a month. It's great insurance but I still think that is completely rediculous and way too expensive.

That is a TON of money. My husband's employer offers free health, dental, and vision insurance if you enroll in the national plan instead of taking your local HMO. So we took the free one. Plus, the HMO is the one that screwed me out of my hospital costs when I had my daughter, so we don't like them much.

they indeed cost a lot these days. sometimes, i think it's rather unhumane for them to be charging that much. i mean, whatever happened to doctors who care less about money and more about their patients' welfare? many people are turning in to alternative medicines/healings/treatments.

Health care insurance costs are ridiculously high and just found out today about my companys insurance that we are renewing in January. Instead of paying $35 each paycheck, I will have to pay $65 each check. We were all shocked and most of us can not afford something like that. We feel we are getting ripped off. It is terrible how insurance companies are charging high amounts like that and Bush has something to do with that.

holy crap... but yes, i think health care is outrageous, i think mine is $300 a month for me and my girlfriend alone, and that is the cheap plan! i just hope none of us need our spleen or liver or kidney removed, or get a bad infection or soemthing, because then we will be screwed.

Couple of years ago, healthcare costs in India were quite cheap compared to any other country. Now, a new generation of people have started health care in a corporate manner and are chaging quite a high fees for services rendered and as a result, the health care is becoming quite expensive. In India, another problem is not many would have gone for health insurance.

Oh gosh it's ridiculous.. If you know who Morgan Spurlock is - on his show 30 days - the first show he did was about Minimum Wage. Together with his wife they went for 30 days working on minimum wage. They left their home state and started over getting an apartment, new jobs, etc. He had to go to the emergency room and it showed his bill which was like almost $600 just for an xray because he had a swollen wrist. It had a medical supplies expense of $40 and all he got was an ace bandage! So you are getting a $40 ace bandage.. He basically started crying.
