We went shopping for a Halloween costume yesterday and they had more x-mas stuff out than they did Halloween. Unbelievable!

It is alsmot halloween. I bet they aren't making as much money off of the costumes. I have noticed that as they sell out of Halloween they put more christmas and winter decorations out.

There's no thanksgiving here so that's not a problem, the only issue is they're out right after Haloween, crazy or what!

There have been Christmas decorations out for sale here since the begining of Sept. It wasn't long ago that they would wait till the day after hallowe'en,maybe a year or two ago, but now they don't even wait for that.

So you start the 13 days on x-mas on Dec 25 and celebrate on Ephiphany? That's what my family tradition is...and the kids get gifts from the "3 wise men"

I just don't think that many people decorate for thanksgiving. Maybe a pumpkin or a special wreath but those are relatively easy to come by. There's just not enough profit in it for the stores.... where as Christmas is incredibly profitable.

It's all about the Benjamins ($$$)...Guess they figure they've got the empty space where they just cleared out the Halloween stuff, might as well slip the Christmas merch into that space since it's empty.

turkey day - turkey day
It counts, but it's not exactly a huge decorating day. I agree with you, though, that the Christmas stuff comes out earlier every year. I heard someone say the other day that at this rate, "Christmas in July" will be more than just a saying before you know it.

I belive it is because of profit. but at the same time you waite until closer to christmas to shop thing are moe picked over. Those popular item become more scarce. They want you in the mood early too so you spend more money. It just puts me off.

depends on where you are i guess, in canada our thanksgiving is over by the time halloween rolls around so we start putting our christmas decortations out soon after that, but im not sure why in the states they would skip right over thanksgiving, mayby too many holidays to close together people get sick of putting up and taking down different decorations

We don't put up our Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving or on the first of December. Then we take it down after New Years.
