Technical Question about Heat pump

Does anyone hear use a air to air heat pump to heat there homes. I had one installed last year and I am not inpressed with it at all. Last night and today the temp dropped to -19. When I went to bed last night I set the thermostat to 72 and when i got up this morning the house temp was at 63. I cannot get any heat from the system, has anyone else had this problem? The Heat Pump is working but just putting out cool air.
