They're useful, I sign when the house phone rings because it's either going to be Shreks work or at bad time. If my mobile rings, at east I know who it'll be as not many people have the number. I only have it with me for emergencies. I suppose I only like them when they are useful to me the rest of the time they're a bit of an invasion of my space. It'snice that people ring but if no-one ever did I wouldn't miss it.

I hate talking on the phone, and I seldom do it. I did a lot of talking when I was young, but now I'd rather e-mail and message with people. It's mostly I think from the fact that I am not a gifted conversationalist. I'm much more comfortable writing.

I think telephones are very important this day and age. Your life is so much easier if you have one. But I also hate telephones cos they disturb my work. I think people should learn the importance of the instrument and use it wisely so that others are not disturbed. Some people have a habit of talking over the phone for hours. Some times, my ears ache. But what to do?

I agree with you. There are some people that you just have a hard time getting rid of.

My husband gets annoyed when the phone frequently rings. I don't mind it. The only time I got annoyed was when a telemarketer would call and try to sell me the latest and greatest idea since sliced bread. If I get the call, I tell them that if I need something and I have the money I buy it. I don't need a phone call from anyone to try to sell it to me. I wish them a good day and hang up. My husband on the otherhand will keep them on the phone, get them all excited about the prospect of a sale, and let them down in the end when they ask for our credit card number.

some days i can't live without my phone and other days i can't stand it. I rather email and text message people then actually talk to them, but if i am not getting my point across then i pick up the phone

Same here. I hate to do it, but sometimes the phone is a necessity.
