What is the deciding factor on how much you earn for posts? referrals? pictures? Is there a guideline? I keep seeing all of these random posts and people arguing about what the "rate" is.. but it seems to me.. that this site was created to stimulate intelligent conversation and thoughtful insights to the world around us.. but people are trashing that idealic image by posting things like.. "Do you like ketchup or mustard".. I hope that this "payment" thing varies. I'd like to think of myself as SOMEWHAT intelligent and thoughtful. Anyways.. back on track... I'm new to all of this and I'm just curious what its all about. With a paypal account, can you use the money for anything? Can you get a check from Paypal? Any information would be greatly appreciated as I'm completely in the dark with all of this! Thanks! :)

i think 1 cent for a post... don't know how much they will paid for picture, but as i know... 1 single picture will be paid just 1 time. so periodically change and upload new pictures. however i uploaded a large collection, didn't get a single penny for any picture. the minimum payment payment is 10$ which will be transfer to your Paypal account.

Do you mean like the picture you have posted as your avatar? Or the option for putting up a gallery of pictures? I'm slightly confused with that... do you know what you can DO with the paypal money? Is it possible to have the money transfered to a bank account?

Maybe this is the best discussions on myLot earnings I've found! Thanks for starting it! You are right thiking that mylot was created to stimulate intelligent conversations. It has a new earning algorythm that rewards for longer and interesting posts...not short reply as "yes or not". So keep posting and do long posts. I can do daily about 1$ writing only a few conversations! I found that posting images is not so convenient, because they pays you only 1 cents...but you loose much time! If you update pictures in your profile, you WILL NOT payed at all....these are the rules! I've seen that I was payed up to 10cents for my posts! Not only 1 cent or 3 as I've read. Two days ago I tried to post only 3-4 messages...I got 46 cents! If someone reply to your discussions, or rate you positive, you earn more! Oh...the last thing, keep on rating everyone...every activity is rewarded!

Well thank you! I appreciate the positive comments and I think you are absolutely correct. I have seen a lot of people that post really minimal and unimportant things and have been complaining about earning meer cents for their posts. It's sad really... I wish that people could see this opportunity they have to share a part of themselves, their intellect, their deeper sides.. and KNOWLEDGE with other people rather than leaving ridiculous.. "I dont know".. or "yeah.. I agree" type comments. Really! You know? I don't think thats so much to expect of people...

Yes you can get a check from paypal but I think they charge a fee for it, it may be better to just get an account set up at a bank even if it has a $5.00 in it, and have it transferred into there as that is no charge to have monies transferred over from paypal to your bank account. I have a separate bank account for my paypal items and then I have a check book so that way I can take the funds transferred into my bank account and then write myself a check for my regular account. that is or has been the easiest for me. As far as ratings and amount of money you get, I am pretty good at providing intelligent conversation, and I do nto really care too much aout how much money I get eah day as long as it builds up I am pretty happy about that! always try to do like 10 discusionss that you start and then like 3 to 4 times in responses, also comment on your responsees you get for your discussions

Really? I didn't think PayPal charged.... but maybe you are right! I have only used PayPal once or twice in the past and I don't really remember how it works! Well I appreciate your response and the time you put into it. Also.. I'm glad to hear that youre a provider of quality conversation, that makes me happy! I wish I knew more people that took the time to show their intellect!

Hello Chrisie! I am new here too and I have also wondered. But today I tried to find out and discovered that one needs to have a minimum of 3,000 points ($50) to ask for some money. My earnings at the moment are just 2.01, so I still have a long way to go! Now I am posting serious articles and including lots of pictures, although I still havent seen the results. I think they want you to write a lot and be very active forming groups, being in them and answering people's queries. I cant remember where I read that, but I am scared of looking for it, so this doesnt disappear! I will include another post if I find it!

Thank you so much for that information! That is something that no one else has come forth with yet, and really helps me have an idea of just HOW much you have to earn in order to have a payout that is really worth something. I will have no problem being active in groups and in forming them.. I love to talk!! :)

As you said you'd like to think of yourself as somewhat intelligent and thoughtful, I think you carry on and use your thoughtfullness and intelligence here for posting the responses. The rest will be taken care by the mylot people. I'm sure they pay handsomely for the good and thoughtful responces. So carry on postings, have fun and good luck for your first payout!!

Well thank you for the compliment. Do you know if users earn anything for rating? I've been going through mine and rating people.. negatively for "repostings".. but it seems like people just add on something simple at the end of the post they've copied, like.."have a nice day".. so that's there only input on the whole comment. Can this still be reported/seen as a violation or as reposting? It's plaigerizing... but with a twist!

... a few days ago the expectations of the posts were changed? I think that's what you are saying.. but I think that's great! Its nice to have a place to go to discuss WHATEVER is on your mind and to have oodles of people that are willing to have some kind of intellectual/thoughtful/or even pointed response. :) Can't find that on the streets of LA! THATS for sure!

Here's what you do. STOP CARING about the rating and the earning. Just enjoy posting and responding to discussions. And do it smart. Because if you care too much about the payout, there will be a tendency that you'll post just for the hell of it. There's a big chance that you'll just post because of the payout. Then the quality of your posts will be stupid. Do that, and I assure you, you'll be earning a lot in no time.

Whoa Tiger. I'm not concerned about the payout, I am curious about how the overall program works though. I have no problem creating discussions on meaningful topics and in being involved in discussions. Debate and speaking are two of my FAVORITE things, and this site is offering an endless supply of that for me. I think this site is going to be an incredible release for myself because it allows me to speak on anything that is jumping around inside my head that my friends and family aren't willing to speak with me about! I think it's fantastic! Its like Christmas! Only BETTER! :)

Yeah.. you're correct. Apparently, or what I have learned from this discussion so far is that for every discussion you start.. and the posts that you make you get payment. That payment is based on the content of your comments and involvement throughout Mylot. :) So they are rewarding those people with the most insight.. versus the people filling the posts with garbage!

thanks for starting this I had a few questions too seeings as how I am a new user and I think from reading all of this I have a better understanding of the site and how it works. I've made 3 posts and am up to .16 I'll get there some day it will probably take me longer though seeings as how I usually type one handed and try to type short things cause I usually end up holding my 3 month old all day. But again thanks for starting this cause I too learned alot from everyone that replied to you.

The truth is, No one really knows, everyone posts differently and uses different images. People get different responses to their discussions. If anyone did know then they could exploit it to their advantage so, i am just happy posting (within the guidelines of mylot) and getting paid for it. I really quite enjoy having to go every day and see what i have earned for the previous day on mylot, it gives me something to better the next day, like a target(sometimes i do, and sometimes i don't, It's all good).

Yeah.. I understand what you're saying. I think it's kind of addicting too, it's like getting email... it IS exciting knowing that you have something to look forward and that your efforts have created something more for you than just (hopefully) quality conversation! I'm not sure if I'm making sense anymore.. I think my words are starting to get jumbled and not make sense. I've been responding to all of these posts and my eyes are starting to cross... sorry!

Yeah, you're definitely right. I started on this site and was thinking.. man, this is kind of fun! Then I logged in the next day and had two dollars in my earnings section? I was kind of surprised. Its weird thinking that something that you enjoy can earn you money? Haha.. I suppose I need to reevaluate my career!!

I think that we get atleast 1 cent for adding images and responding to others posts. I responded to only 30 posts a day ago but got $1+ for only 30 posts. We do n't get any $ or cent we make a new referral but when that referral works then we get daily 25% of his/her earning. Alas! i have 28 referrals and earned only $3.20 yet from them. So sad. It is n't even 10% of my total earning.

HMM it's funny.. when i got the post of increment in the rate.. it was GREAT!.. i got 30 cents for roughly 10 posts.. the next day i got 60 cents for around 20 + post. Then the weird thing happened. mylot reduce my PAY!? for 60 cents to 49 cents.. then even weirder things happened. the next day i got like 14 cents for 30+ posts.?! i don't know what to say.. it's kinda sad because of the confusion..

Are you posting things that have substance to them? Or just posts with "yes or no" answers? I'm assuming by the response that you left me that you're putting up posts that have more to them then the average bear might write.. but I dont know. I really want to know what they base this off of, and WHOOOO is watching us! :)

3.50 for posts total? I cant imagine that you would make that much from a single post, however I am curious to know how many posts it took for you to earn the 3.50. It seems to me that you have to have a lot of posts, discussions, and involvement to earn a reasonable amount. I've very interested to see where this site takes me..

I think the deciding factor is the discussion and its quality.Means,Whether we are responding to a discussion or starting a new one,it should have quality.Dont respond to any discussion for namesake..

I understand what you're saying, but does it really affect you if you respond to a post with a less than meaningful response? Perhaps it does.. I see people writing.. "yesterday my payout was THIS but today I only earned THIS".. I dont know if thats related to it, but maybe?

even i too new to this community i loked the way u started ur journry here well what i able to grasp is that the logic or sensible inputs make money and not just posting time pass items or things earn because first day i post to 1 discussion and i got .12$ and yesterday i post to 4-5 disussions and i get .08$ so this shows we should reply in a sensible manner rarher increase our no by posting anything which didnt help to anyone hope you got the idea
