I have 3 kids so I have to really be frugal. I'm thinking a card with a dollar scratch off holiday lottery ticket for each teacher. With 3 kids that leaves about 15 teachers total. What do you give teachers?

When my kids were little, we used to give teachers gifts. Now they are both in the later years of high school, and they both work to make their own money. They buy gifts if they want to for certain teachers, but they have a number of teachers so it's not economical for them to give gifts all around.

Oh, when my kids were little, I used to make a lot of jams and pickles in the summer. Quite often I would have jars of these at Christmas time and I used those as gifts for the teachers. One year Sears had a beautiful little teacher pendant, I think it was a silver apple or something, and I gave those.

That's a nice idea too because homemade things like that for a full time working person is always appreciated!

Great topic. I don't know what to buy teacher's but it seems that there is competion in the classroom to get the best gift for the teacher. I think a card would be nice, I would maybe get a .99 cent cup and put some candy and tie it up. Happy Holiday.

That's another great idea! Mine are older now... so it's not like we can spend $10 on one gift for one teacher. They have 5 or more teachers each!
