Just wondering what you would do if your child was molested? I would emasculate any man that laid a finger on my child. Why do you think this happens so often?

i think that if i ever found out that someone had molested my child, my first order of business would be to take them to a doctor in order to make sure that he/she was ok physically... find a good therapist in order to help them come to grips with what happened as best they could... make provisions for someone to be able to care for my child in case my insanity defense didn't work in the murder trial that would be inevitable after getting my hands on whoever had molested my child.

You had better hope they don't track down this post, it would be hard to claim insanty after you spelled out what you did here. But... I don't blame you on bit!

It is tough to say what I would do... I don't think that you can really answer a question like that until it happens. I hope that I would comform my child as much as humanly possible, providing for them any care they they would need. As for the person (I noticed you singled out men...) I would hope that I have the strength to allow the law to take care of him. I would not want to cause my family any more harm by doing something rash. Like I said, this is what I hope would happen... But, I also hope that I never have to find out.

Excellent point, I pray that I would never have to find out either. You focused on the needs of your child first and I think that is to be commended. I hope that I would not be too focused on getting revenge on the person (male or female) as to overlook the needs of my child.

HouseKat, thanks so much for this reply. You're care for your child is very inspiring. You have the best interest of your child in mind and that will be much more effective in her life then any kind of revenge ever would! I wish that I could mark this as the best response.

I don't have any children but if I did and found out that she/he had been molested I would probably be on trial shortly thereafter.... In all reality though I would turn him over to the law and if that didn't help I would make his life miserable in little ways. Bad and vengeful maybe but I don't find molesters to be humans at all.

I was as a child, and nothing was done about it. I have deep rooted problems from this. If anyone touched a child of mine, I would do something I should not do to him. I hate those monsters, and wish that the US was not so civil. They should cut off there..... as they do in other countries. The reason it happens is because most of those men are sick. I cannot really say what I want to on MyLot, as it would break rules. Read inbetween lines and think anything awful and you will have your answers.

What man? There would no longer be a man to be concerned with!!! And trust me, there would be no trail to lead to the cause of his disappearance. Have you watched the Dateline - To Catch a Predator? Here is a link to a story just in case some have not heard of it. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15130487/ There is a organization called Perverted Justice that does an awesome job at catching these sickos. And each time I watch one of those shows, I get more sick and angry at stupid men. And for those that would like to help. Here is a link that will provide you on how you can help to stop these people. http://www.perverted-justice.com/

This happened to a friend of mine recently, and in this case it was her son's step-grandfather who was the guilty party, so there were several family considerations involved, including problems between my friend and her mother. I counselled reporting the case, which was done almost immediately, and also charging the grandfather. (In Australia the person has to lay a charge before action can be taken by the police). It was several weeks before a charge was laid. The man went to jail for a short time but is now out. The boy still has problems and receives counselling. If it happened to one of my children, I know what I would FEEL like doing, but I hope I would leave it to the law. Why does it happen so often? The sinfulness of the human race and the gradual lowering of standards throughout the country. Thankfully, only a minority of people allow their base nature to control them, but it does seem as though it is happening more and more.
