Do we earn for comments as well?

Canada
December 7, 2006 8:52pm CST
I've looked around the site for a while, and searched through posts and discussions, but I can't seem to find anywhere that mentions if we get paid for the comments in the discussions as well. I really like commenting on what people say, so it would be pretty cool if those count toward the earnings. It just makes me wonder because I don't think they are counted towards your posting number next to your name. I know that the replies are counted in the number, but comments don't seem to be, so I'm not sure if they count. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

i do not think that you will earn money by posting a comment. i have posted a number of comments and as far as i can tell i have not earned any from them. it would be better if you just post a quality reply in a discussion. if you would like to comment you can do so but that would not add up to the number of posts you have and won't add up to your earnings. just a thought but maybe i am wrong. thanks anyways.

This quote is from the mylot user pages: How does this work? "We have implemented a system to give everyone who uses the internet the ability to make money. The idea is pretty simple - if you contribute to the myLot Community - whether it is by posting a new discussion, responding to a current discussion, commenting on a current discussion, or referring friends, you earn money." So yes, if I read that right, commenting pays too. I know my score goes up when I comment.

I'll still comment, because I like to let people know that I appreciate their feedback. It's a shame that comments don't count, because I feel that some really good information is also found in a lot of them, but if they don't then that's okay too I guess... oh well, at least now I know ;)

Yea, I was just curious about how this whole thing worked, but I'm still waiting to see how the earnings work with all this. Perhaps I'll try and do some experiments on it one day. Like only post comments one day or something lol.

comments on your own discussion certainly wont add up..........on others it surely does and if you reply it increases your counts as well as you cents.........

Yes, this will help your Totals increase in the long run Financially, because as you get more Responses on here to your topic, the more you make in the end.

no, I didn't think so, but comments on my own discussions lead to more discussion, which in turn is good for everyone though, right?

Yes, I have no doubt that I'll be paid, but I was just wondering if the pay comes from only our 'responses' or from our 'comments' we make as well, since they seem to be two different ways for people to answer.

I do wonder though, how were you already creditted into your paypal account if you've only made two posts so far?

Yes you also get points for posting comments and converted to cash. I make almost all my earnings daily from just good comments like this.

yes you earn for every comment that is made on your discussion and every comment that you make on other peoples discussions. This is a good way to earn Make sure that all of your comments are very good and long. The better the quility the more money you make. Good luck and mylot up dates every 24 hours so you won't know how much you have until that 24 hours is up.

Yes, I've heard about this 24 hours thing... and wouldn't I know it, on my first day, when I'm extra excited about knowing how much I earned, they are late to tell everyone. Oh well... extra waiting I suppose! That's okay too... but not for too long, mylot ;) By the way, does anyone know if when they update, the updates are just for yesterdays date, or does it include things as well that was posted after midnight? Anyone have any ideas on that?

Yes, I think we do. But I think their algorithms scans for useless repetitive comments like thank you for posting and stuff like that.

Oh, okay, that would really be a helpful scan if there was something that they could use for that. A comment is a comment, whether it is on your own topic or someone else's, so if they say you earn for leaving comments to on that quote left a few messages above this one, then I don't see why some comments would be worth earnings something, while other ones wouldn't be. But then again, they aren't my algorithms lol

It's interesting how some people think yes, that we do, and others think no, that we don't. It would be nice to hear something official on this topic. Do the admin's of this site ever reply to people's posts? Or should I try to send a message to them and see if they respond?

Nope, not only for earning, but it still had me curious, so I figured people might have known the answer since they'd been around a little longer than I have been.

Thanks so much for that question-I hadn't even noticed the diff between respond & comment until just now.
• Canada
8 Dec 06
Well, I noticed it early on, but I noticed as well that I was doing a lot of commenting, not only in my own discussions, but in other people's as well. So if it does count towards the earnings, then I'm in very good shape I think!

Yes, you can only get paid for a very good response to a person. Also rate peoples posts because we get paid more if rated.

I really like responding to what everyone has posted, because everyone took the time to write to me that valuable information. So it's only a nice thing I can do back to everyone else. But now my posts have so many messages on them that I have a long ways to go to respond to people, because I feel way behind when I went to sleep lol... but I'll catch myself up sometime :) I'm glad that you like the fact that I was responding, because now I know that some people appreciate it, then it makes me want to keep doing it all the more!

commenting and responding in other's discussion will be credited.commenting on one's own discussion will not be considered here.but it is a a good habit to reply to the posts of our discussion.i noted one point in commenting or responding is that when we comment or respond to a discussion for one time it is taken into account.but for the other time i think it is not taking it.because the rating has not increased.

I was just trying to reply to this response when the site stopped working for me. I was hoping I'd return to see some new earnings figures, but not so much, oh well lol... Anyway, I'll just retype what I had written before: I think you may be on to something there... because I'd read people saying that comments don't add up towards your total posts number, but it seems to me that after some of my comments the number does in fact go up so some of them must be counting. What you are saying about it being the first one that counts, that seems to make sense.

Yes they do count. I rarely post discussions anymore.. just comment and I'm at $25.04 as of today.

Everything does matter and does count. Except the time you read discussions. I do believe that quality always pays better then quantity. I have a rating of (258)and have a personal earning of $ 5,21. So not bad, i suppose. Good luck with earning and mylot.

Maybe comments do count then, because I have a rating of (71) and I've made $6.16... but I'm sure, mind you I know I've made a lot more comments than responses on people's posts. But some of the responses that I did make were very long ones, so that might have meant something. I'm not sure.

if you have not answerd the discussion and not made any comments on it yes for your first one you do but after that you dont. I looked at my numbers after i made a comment instead of responding to the discussion.

Yes this is indeed an important question. nd I think after also checking how this work, that commenting/responding to other people's questions help for earnings, while commenting to your own may or may not help. It may if it counts how long the discussion you started is at the end. Another good question I think it is does it make any change the length of your reply to somebody's question? like will you earn more if you answer with few words, few lines or a resonable fragment? Who knows to answer this one? And another questions: RATING - does it counts how many answers/questions you have rated? Or how many other people rated positively your comments/answers answers? Who knows to answer this one? Thank you.
