Yes it can be tracked by their ip address which stands for internet provider address. No matter how many profiles they use it will come back to the same person. The only way to avoid that would be using two different internet providers.

I don't see how having 2 profiles would be cheating. You would still need to spend time on the site and provide opinions and start discussions etc to make some money (if that is the reason you are on mylot). Perhaps someone has 2 profiles because they want to protect their identity. For example, a person may be friends with a number of people in real life and have referred them to mylot to make some money, therefore all the friends know their user name. Then just say the same person wants to contribute to a discussion but details of that discussion are of a personal nature and they wish to keep that a secret from their friends so they create a new profile and add to the discussion they want to all the while protecting their secret and identity. I know people do this on other forums (non paying) that I regularly visit. Just a thought....

I never thought about it in that way, but you would seem to be right. At least you make some very good points. Even if you have two accounts, then yes, you'd still have to do the same amount of work on this site to earn the money. I just wasn't sure how a person could even know if it would be the same person just by looking at their conversations. I know about ip addresses and all that, but from the original posters point of view, I was wondering how a person would notice something like that. Anyway, thanks for opening up my eyes, because what you said, I'd never even considered before.

I noticed in some other threads that it appears that some people are copying and pasting in other discussions. So perhaps this is why the question of 2 profiles has arisen? It is something I guess I haven't noticed happen yet.

Though I haven't noticed that happening either, I can believe that it is because of the nature of this site, and from what I've been reading in other people's posts. But it seems silly to create another site and do stuff like that which will give away the secrets that it's not a real person that cares about what they post lol

what would be thr advantage to have 2 identities, if they did I guess it would be against the rules.

I don't know exactly about THAT, but for example, on my home computer i have an account and my bf has an account through my referral link on here. He rarely comes on here though and posts. o_O

That certainly sounds like it would be against the rules... how would you know if a person has two profiles? I mean, what is tipping you off that they might be trying to cheat the system?

I dont think it should be if it allowed unfair benefit. But I think two people should be able to access from one computer
