Labour Induction

Has anybody experienced induced labour?
My son tried to come prem at 35 weeks, but as I was at a country hospital and they did not have the facilities to care for a prematur child, or complications for myself if tehy arose they stopped my later. Then they thought I was developing pre eclampsia in my 39th weeks so they booked me in for an induction on Monday the 15th May 2006, the day afetr Mothers day. My due date was Saturday the 13th of May. Funnily enough I went into labour naturally on Friday afetrnoon and at 9.17am Saturday morning, my son was born- on his due date (apparently only 5% of babies are born on their due date!) so I escaped being induced which I was TERRIFIED of.

I had many many complications with my pregnancy but the most serious was my blood pressure. Because of this I was in the hospital every month for a few days at the time. The doctor decided as soon as it was safe he would induce. They gave me steroids to help the baby's lungs develop and at 37 weeks they induced. It took 3 sticks for them to get my iv in. Then they gave me an epidural with a pump. this was great I could just push the button when I wanted pain medicine and it would put pain medicine in my iv automatically. I felt no pain during my labor. But I dialated to 5 cm and that was it so they had to do a C section. The only pain I felt was later during the recovery process. So my induction was not painful at all. It was actually quite pleasant.

I was induced on my second child. They just broke my water and gave me meds in my IV. After about 10 hours I had my second baby girl. It went much quicker and the labor was not as long. I had to have a C-section with my third though. Hated that!

Nope, I didn't have induce labor. But, my daughter came two weeks before her due date which was July 3, 2006 and she was suppose to be here on July 17, 2006. She was almost a four of July baby.
