Is Christmas a time you observe? Is it a spiritual time for you? If so, how do you make it more spiritual amidst the shopping and hectiveness? I ask because we can all use THOSE tips!

It should be a spiritual time for us. But it is not today. Everyone is wrapped up in buying, I think that is so sad. I think it should be stopped no more buying presents for people. What do you say?

Christmas is a season. People are happy to give and to receive gifts. It is also spiritual - we are reminded that Jesus, the Son of God, is born.

It wasn't so bad when you made the gifts.. just simple things to show love. Today it's just a mad, mad world..

I believe Christmas is a spiritual time. It's a time for us to remember the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas shouldn't supposed to be more on giving gifts, etc. but LOVE. God has set that example.

Going to midnight mass on Christmas eve is always special. And I like to read a little book called The Birth every year. It is telling of the birth of Jesus and is really good. It talks about the excitement of the heavenly realm to be going down to earth for the 1st time since the prophets and Gabriel's excitement to visit Mary to announce that she has been chosen to be the mother of the Most High God. Really cool little book!

I have a collection of small nativities that I always display at Christmas time. My grandchildren love to look at them and it gives me the opportunity to explain to them that Christmas is really about celebrating the birth of Jesus and not just a time to expect lots of expensive gifts. I usually make gifts or get small inexpensive gifts that I know they will enjoy. We make it a time for the family to enjoy being together. I don't go crazy worrying that everything is not going to be perfect.

that's really a good question christmas has gotten so commercial this one was really hard as we knew that my hubby would be leaving for the middle east soon after. When we can we sponser a family instead of buying gifts for each other that helps us place the focus more on Christ than on us
