Are wild White Doves friendly? Let me tell you a story. One day my wife was walking near our house one morning when she noticed, out of the corner of her eye, something walking along side her. It was a white wild dove and it let my wife pick it up. Now it doesn’t want to leave.

Perhaps it's an escaped dove. These are raised by humans and trust them. It they aren't raised by humans, they will fly away when you want to pick them up.

Perhaps it was an escapee, but it seems to have liked it here so much that it doesn’t even attempt to fly away. I figure it thinks it has it made here, it’s not even in a cage. Thanks for your response

I certainly hope it isn’t bad luck. When my wife first brought it in, on her finger, the dove just kept looking at me in a very attentive way. I started to wonder, maybe it’s my Mother watching over me, she passed away not too long ago. Thanks for your response

i would agree that it must have been an escapee. but doves in general arent by any means unfriendly. even if wild caught ive never had one try to bite. sounds like you and your wife have a new pet.

I don't think it's a wild one. Must have ben tamed and probably escaped and that could account for the easy association with humans.A dove is a sign of peace and i hope it will bring you this in abundance.

that is very awesome...i bet it was someones pet who released it..i hope you take care of it and keep it..if it was a pet it might not be able to survive on its own...
