How long should you leave a baby playing on their own whilst you are out of the room?

It depends on several factors. Is there a baby monitor? Is the baby sleeping? Where is the baby when you leave the room? Are there any pets in the room? I mean, I wouldn't leave a baby laying on a couch with a dog or cat in the room while I was gone. If a baby was sleeping I would make sure to use a baby monitor or be within ear shot and check in every 30 minutes or so.

Hi my baby is 1 and is crawling and pulling herself up on the furniture and cruising. She is kept out of the pen whilst we tidy up leaving her to play and there are no pets apart from fish and a tarantula which are in a tank away from her.
