What do you do when you get bad service at a resturant?

Last night me and my footy team went out to a resturant , the service was terrible. Took them 2hours to get our food . food was supposed to all come out together, which it didnt and the staff treating us poorly. we managed to get a big discount ldeft and never will return put your bad resturant experiences here and what you did

if the service is bad.. i dont give them tips.. if it is worst than bad.. ill talk to the manager..

There is a better way than giving no tip - give a $0.25 tip. It lets them know that you didn't just simply forget the tip, but that you remembered the tip, and are sending a message that their service was really awful. Fortunately I have only had to do that once myself. (Since I was a waiter and am now a chef, I am pretty forgiving of bad service...)

We've had some bad/slow service before... We've had the waiter/waistress totally ignore us... When they fail to refill my husband's coffee or not very helpful, we don't tip them... We've also had a waiter try to stiff us when bringing back our change! LOL That was hilarious, he tried to give himself a $50+ tip! LOL

We had bad service once at a breakfast resturant, we did not get coffee refilled, so my husband went up to the counter and got the coffee pot and refilled not only my cup but also the people next to us. Needless to say, we did not leave a tip

restaurant - experience in a restaurant
We went to this particular restaurant with my family,similar with you we have to wait for a long time for the food to be served,we waited almost an hour, and the food serve taste like it was just heated and not freshly cooked,the price was kinda' expensive,we were very disatissfied with the service.we have not done anything, we just told ourselves not to back to this restaurant ever again.

WOW...okay I just remembered one... It was at an applebees...hope I dont get in trouble for posting a name but anyway. Basically I felt like the waiter was wayyyy to personal. Talking about all types of different things, automatically assuming that just because our race was the same then obiviously we have the same interests....We did not. What made it a bad experience was that after we were finished with out food, I ordered dessert and then moved to the bar. 35 minutes later.....still no dessert.. He said that he forgot and thought we left....I felt like I deserved some type of discount. Spoke with the manager who would not give me a discount...Someone else I met that night ended up paying for it anyway....THANKS FOR STRANGERS!!!

Well once i did this .... what hapnd is .... i have exam times nd juss went to a resturant nd i orderd chicken noodles ..... 1 hour gone ... but i dint get wot i want ... but the ppl who come after me that ate nd gone .... so i finally angry nd shouted on them badly.... because we also paying the same ......Even i getting late 2oo..

First of all I would have walked out way before two hours.An hour for even a really fancy resturant is a long time.Second,you can bet no one was getting a tip!I don't care to be generous when the food and service are good,but woe to those who aren't.

It doesn't happen often, but when it has, if it was really bad, I will complain to the management. On the same hand, if the service is great, I will also call over the manager to compliment them.

When I receive bad service I bring that to the managers attention and after going home write a official complain after going to there website. It is important to tell manager about any problems you have faced. May be they can help you out ...

I leave a penny as the tip. this lets the waiter / waitress know your being a jerk on purpose. im tellin u it works. just the look on there face when they see it is priceless. i really should start bringing my camera when this happends lol :)

I got it at hogs breath on my birthday and it took us over an hour and a half to get our food! our steak was cold and my veggies werent cooked. to top it all off my steak was still bleeding :S

if this is the way the customers are being treated in the restaurant i would surely complaint the management and avoid that restuarant in future....

It happened many a times due to poor management and bad PR work. I lodge the complaint to the Manager and then blacklist the hotel for future visits. That way every week a new restaurant is opened in the city. Nothing is indepensable.

yeahh... i do have similar experience with you but i don't wait for as long as 2 hours like what you did... i only wait for about 45 minutes and that is enough to make me upset... for me, i will leave the restaurant straight away and don't even bother to wait for the food to come out if it takes that long... and of course, i'm not going to pay for it...

It it's horrible service I usually leave a "PennyZ" for a tip, I'm sure they get the message... If it's bad food or the wrong order I ask to talk to the manager or leave a note on the back of the bill...

nothing as such. moreover it depends a lot that with whom i am eating and how bad is the food really. if it is manageable then i try to manage. but if i feel it real bad then i talk to manager for the same. i pay for the food and leave without eating

Yep I think the manager needs to know how you feel about the service. Service makes all the difference on weather I will be returning.
