just this evening, my family and i were watching this program on TV (similar to a documentary) about this family who had its father to have a stroke four months ago. instead of taking care of him, the wife maltreated him and really treated him like an animal. she puts him on the garage naked and she beats him up with a hammer while feeding him. and the most disturbing thing is that his daughter who is only 9, did the same thing as what her mother did! she pour boiling water on her dad, spank him with a broomstick, hit her father with a hammer, kick him. it was totally disturbing! why not just shoot him on the head to end his sufferings??? his family should be the one taking care of him but they betrayed him... i guess some people are undeniably crazy...

I think this is one of the bad thing happened in the world. Children should never treat their parents like this. When we did wrong things they never punished like this. They never left us or ill treated us. I think the wife set a bad example for her own daughter. She must been suffering for psychosis. I think the daughter was too young to understand anything. Thanks for this topics. It is one of the best topics I have seen in my Lot.

thank you for your comment.. i also think that the wife is terribly sick because no human being could have done such actions without even being bothered by their conscience...

Its really disturbing and annoying that these things happen in our world and Tv channels are airing these things which is even more disturbing. I really hope these things are not aired on TV again and these things don't happen in our society again.

I have seen that on TV too. I was really hurt I almost cry seeing the scene. My husband and I were together watching the documentary and we were really hurt for him. It was really touching to see the concern of some neighbors and reported it to the authorities. It was very disturbing to realize that even his daughter hits him while his wife is not around. It would be better if they had just submitted him to government's social welfare service or asked some relative's help if they couldn't take care of him. At least, in such a way, they can show their "little" love and concern even if they have difficulties in their lives. It was not his fault to be a burden to them, he was just unlucky to had stroke earlier. Maybe, with all his effort to support them as the head of the family, he missed to take care of his health, and this is all he got in return from them? I don't think he deserves it or even them.

People are mean, cruel and disgusting. The child will grow up like her mother and do the same it is why she did this thinking it was okay. If you've read a child called it then nothing is suprising anymore. I don't understand why, or how someone could do this and be so cruel but it sickens and saddens me as well as disgusts me very much. The world is becomming sicker, sadder and even more cruel and greedy by day.

ya, i saw this last night in the GMA7 documentary. it was totally shocking. the mother who works in a garbage dumpsite by day is brutal to his husband when she gets home at night. the eldest daughter, karen, who is left with her two 2 younger siblings, is also very brutal to his father. the neighbors found out these things and silently documented it with a cellphone camera. one neighbor raised her concern to the authorities and the "head of the family" was sent to the hospital for immediate cure of his wounds resulting from the brutality of his family. while the mother takes care of the husband at the hospital, the two elder children were sent to the social welfare whilst the youngest who is 1 year old was taken care of by the neighbors. from the social welfare, karen, who is the eldest, showed her emotions(anger and fear) to other children in the children center. the psychologist stated that karen was influenced by her mother. Poor, dad! but we thanked that he was saved by the neighborhood and the authorities. i think the story is secretly evolving in the developing countries like philippines. at least, the people are aware that brutality even within the family is not acceptable to anyone's society. nice discussion topic....

I am pretty sure the father should have been moved out of the house and the mother and daughter punished for asault. That is not right to do such things to people, there is one persone to judge us and that is GOD,no one gave them the right to torture him and someone should see that justice is served.I really get angry at people like that.

it is so difficult to punish a child for a crime probably she doesn't understand much.. i think she reacted with the same behavior her mom did... and so she became violent.

before his stoke was the father abusive and wrong to the family? Not that that would justify their wrong doing but it could have caused them to feel this way and do these things to him.

during their investigation, the neighbors commented that the husband, before he got his stroke was quite a normal guy. never maltreated his family in any way.

That's not okay.. AT ALL. The only time it's okay to hit ANYONE is for the purpose of self defense.. and only that. HITTING IS JUST PLAIN WRONG.

If this is not fictitious, then it is very possible that the family of the sick man is avenging, although I do not condon such acts toward the sick and helpless.

of course not!!i also saw that on tv, and damn to his wife!!first of all we can not blame the children for acting like that,it all boils down to the wife.maybe the wife instill to theri children that their father doesn't deserve to live..for what ever reasons she have, its still not humane to treat a person lke that. i suggest that the mother should be given some medical attention and for the children, they have to be under the custody of the DSWD - dept of social welafare and development. they have to be thought of the right attitude - right form wrong.

I did not see the program however I wish I had. Did they go into the family dynamics before the stroke? Could they have been doing some sort of vengeance upon him? I'm not saying that justifies it I'm just curious if that could have been their warped reasoning. My own father had a couple of strokes and I do know he became meaner after them. He could always be cruel and verbally abusive but it became worse afterwards. However I could not picture hitting him like that. Yell maybe but not abuse him in such manner.

i also saw that program and man! that little girl was not on her right mind. she should be taken somewhere for counseling. i hope things will be ok with the dad... they sent him to the hospital, with the help of some organizations and the children were taken away and brought to the orphanage. that is much better for them so they could monitor them more.

yes, i think so. the wife should be taken to a mental institute. but i guess they still let her take care of him in the hospital. and when she was asked if she ever beat him.. she denied it!!! how could the husband all those wounds and burns if it weren't for them??? crazy woman!

That woman is a sick bit...anyone that could do tis to her own dad need's to be put under the jail.Your parents took care of you now it's time to do the same for them when they need it.If she didn't want to take care of him she should have put him in a nursing home!

That's just gross! And that poor man...more than all that physical pain, there's gotta be even more emotional pain, I mean, to have all the people you know and love treat you like sh*t in your time of need, when you're ill...
