I also observed the same thing in most of the hollywood films. In bollywood also this is happening. In real life we can find such kind of things. So they are making such kind of films. But these films should be helpful for the women.
Helpful? In what way? I think these kind of movies serves only to lessen the female populations drive for equality. Why not reverse the situation? I seldom see a Prince saved by his Princess... :)

well nice observation. but this is because of the fact that we people want to see women like that. moreover this kinds of roles suites to them as they are beautiful and does not seems to do such a act.
See them like what? Helpless? Always the Maiden in Distress?
You see? This is the kind of things that stereotyped women as a whole as weak and in need of constant protection.
