Do you pay for your mp3s and download music from sites like iTunes, or do you get it from file sharing networks, or free websites?

I pay for all of mine. After people started getting tossed in jail I made sure I never used any free sites again. I don't mind paying 99 cents for a song.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL TO DOWNLOAD WHEN IT IS READILY AVAILABLE.

I've discovered many songs/bands that I wouldn't of done without 'illegal means', even with paid sites, I wouldn't pay for a song I might not end up liking at the end of the day.

Hey! That`s a great discussion! My name is Ashley Leigh. I am fairly new to MyLot and have met a lot of nice people already! I was wondering if I could add you to *My Buddies*. That way, when you post new discussions I can reply to them and share my opinions. I hope that`s okay. Please let me know. I can also help you make more money on MyLot. Also, if you have MySpace, I`m on there everyday. Mine is www.myspace.com/skittlez353. MyLot is a really great way to make some extra money. You just have to be devoted. That`s how I see it. I`m a stay-at-home job so I just think of this as my way of making extra diaper money and it helps. I hope I can reply to more of your discussions though, please let me know if I can add you. xO` [ASHLEY] PS - i USE LIMEWIRE. ITS FREE AND EASY

I help run a great freebie site and we have so many links to free downloads, I think all of them are totally legal, until I no longer have to pirate the music I want.

I my view it is illegal to download music from internet, becasue lot of hard work has gone into making a music video. The artist might have worked day and night to make a music. And see what we people do sitting at comfort of our home download the music from net without paying a penny.

I used to use Napster before the shake-up, but have not used P2P since then. Too chicken for one thing. We generally try to buy CDs directly from the bands themselves if they're still around because we enjoy supporting the musicians. I do get a lot of music from friends, too. I have never purchased a music download. If I'm forking over money, I want something I can hold in my hand, darnit.

I subscribe to Musicmatch. If I like it, I buy it. Otherwise, I save my money. Mostly, I save my money. Most of what I like is old. I don't like file sharing networks because my experience has been that I have to wait all day to get what I want and it may not even be what I want. Besides, I try to put myself in the shoes of the artist. If I had put my heart and soul into something, I would not want people to steal it from me. On the other hand, sometimes, stealing can make you more popular. Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" was prematurely released on the file sharing networks, so he gave it away on Myspace. Now it is on the charts. How often does that happen? When you're good, you're good. There is no keeping a good artist down.

It should be free. I mean rember back in the day when people would tape songs off the internet. It is like the same thing in my opian.

very few people download music from sites like iTunes, and mostly go for file sharing networks or free websites. However it shoul not be made illegal, and should not be scrapped....
