I think that Matt Groening, the Simpson series producer, when he created Homer Simpson inspired to the common stereotype of modern father. I think Homer's psychology can be easily found in many fathers. And now I'm curious to know if your Dad looks like Homer Simpson?:)

Yes he does look like homer simpson. that's why I don't go in the same room when he's around.He eats lots of donuts, too.

my dad looks like him too except for he doesnt eat donuts. Here they aren't spreaded as in america. :)
