for the past 3 years, we've been celebrating my little girl's bday without any clown or mascot at all. she's afraid of them. don't know why. could it be the makeup and the costume perhaps?

CLOWN - Circus Clown
How old is she? Children are generally very frightened of clowns between 18 mos. of age and 3-4 yrs. Maybe it's the makeup, or the boisterous personality.

she's four and she'll be 5 in april. this early, i've been asking her if she'd like a clown for her 5th bday and she said, no clowns, no mascots! sigh!

Well, at least it saves you some money on her birthday parties, not having to hire the clown!

i'm not sure. maybe it's because of the exaggerated makeup and the BIG costumes?
