Do you believe in GOD?

Why? Which god? How do you decide? This is a question that is very personal. I think it is different for everyone and for some, maybe even most, it changes over time. Is your belief in God how you structure your morals?

I do believe in God, God of the Bible that is. In today's world, there are so many religions and it's really hard to pick and choose. Fortunately, God has chosen me since I was 12 years old and I do not need to look anywhere else. Because I believe the God of the Bible, then I also believe that Jesus is my Savior. God is a just God and we have become children of wrath since sin has entered the world.We need a Savior to escape His wrath. My morals are structurered according to what I was taught and to what I learned from God through the Bible.

I believe in God. I was raised Baptist and although I no longer attend church on a regular basis, I do believe in God, heaven and hell, the Bible, and the consequences of sin. The type of Baptist church I grew up in was very judgmental, so that has kept me from attending church on a regular basis as an adult. I do read the Bible, pray to God, and believe that Jesus is in my heart.

But the bible is a collection of texts. Those "scriptures" were written in the context of the time that the authors lived. Also, a counsel of men, at the Second Council of Nicaea, decided which texts to include and which to deny. Even catholic theologians agree that the bible is influenced by the time in which the authors wrote. Of course the argument to this reasoning is that God inspired all of these people, but what if the people who put the bible together were instead taken over by evil?

I believe that "God" is a concept; God is a part of our being, our soul, that has a power over our lives, actions, and beliefs that we cannot control. God is what makes us inherently good and kind. I believe that God's influence is what helps me make most of my life decisions, even if I am not aware of his presence. He is there to guide me and help me to do the right thing. The God that I believe in is not a "dictator", there are no rules for how often you need to show up at church or how many religious artifacts you need in your home. You simply have to be a good person, respect humanity, and respect other human beings, treating all others as you want to be treated. If I do these things, I believe that God will carry me in the palm of his hand, keeping me safe and sound.

yes i do believe in god. when we look world, nature, life circles around us, yes we do belive in god. I do not have blind faith. but lets tell me why not?

I personally would not structure my moral beliefs on something as vague as religion.
