Oh my God, what is wrong with me

I have just consumed half a small lemon merangue pie. I wasnt even hungry. Im still thinking about food and having something else now. This is a regular thing with me over the last few months and its starting to show. My clothes are all getrting tight but I just cant seem to stop. Im not unhappy or anything so what the hell is wrong and why do I constantly want to eat even though Im not hungry at all.How am I going to stop. The weight is starting to get me down. Help.

Mmmm, that sounds good, but I have an idea that might help, if you want to stop food cravings: I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant, and had to go on a sugar free diet. During that time, I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that the science behind diets based on the glycemic index is valid. The theroy is that when you eat sugar, insulin is secreted into your blood to neutralize the sugar. If you eat too much sugar (or foods that easily convert to sugar like baked goods made with white flour) on a regular basis, your body can respond by producing too much insulin. Then your blood sugar drops and you get hungry for more sugary food, even though you should still be full from the last time you ate. After my pregnancy, I had a brief weight gain, when everyone brought chocolate to the hospital, and then I went back on the sugar free diet voluntarily. I'd always had trouble with my weight before my pregnancy, and suspect I used to be addicted to sugar. I would not be able to have cake or pie in my house, because I'd end up eating it all over the course of the day. I could never get through the day without a chocolate bar. After a couple of days of no sugar, I stopped craving it completely. I feel like I can taste and appreciate healthier food more, and my weight is consistently low now. I feel like the food problem is out of my life. I just read through a few at the bookstore one day, and noticed that the maintainance phase of the diet sounded pretty much like what I had eaten when I had diabetes. I even lost all the pregnancy weight without having to do the weight-loss phase. I think cutting out sugar and white flour has a dramatic effect all by itself. Good luck.

Maybe its some hormonal changes that occur in women,that tend to make to want to eat more....I too have a same problem..But am trying to divert my attention fromfood to other things like sewing, crafts, etc...Try out different things and they shud help u to divert ur attention from food....hope everything getss better with u...

Yeah. I used to do a lot of sewing etc.. Maybe I just need to occupy mu hands so they dont keep stuffing food into my mouth!!

it's ok, you look pretty to me...be happy and blessed that you are healthy enough and could eat...hehe..im saying that cos im in the same situation...eating non stop too...i guess it's my mood swings and that im very happy with my bf being around me.

Don't blame thee eating as being a cause this is only an end, please look within yourself, look for those things within you, you want to change or feel unhappy about then set a plan and work through the plan to find the happy beautiful you i see in the photo. If it helps you any, I can offer to eat the other half. ;) It can be very hard to put down food, especially when you get into a mindless habit of eating when you are hungry or not. You almost need to retrain your conscious thinking in order to not start eating. There have already been a few good recommendations of resources in other comments. Good luck to you! ~Wyrdsister

teenal you really need to seriously start taking a good look as to what you are eating you need to instead of sitting on the internet chatting go for a walk start getting a bit of excerise before it`s a real problem .Putting on weight is such an easy thing to do but it`s so hard to loose it

I feel like that some times. You don't feel hungry but eat something and find you still want something else even though you weren't hungry in the first place. I don't think there's anything wrong with you! If your not hungry then try not give in and go on the food hunt. Don't let the weight get you down :)

hah...I've always been a stress eater, so if you have more stress than normal at work, that can contribute. Being a woman, monthly hormone changes can cause you to want to eat certain things also.

could you be pregnant? the first tghing i would be checking out is what was making me change my eating habits. Particularly putting weight on is an odd sign if you are not depressed id get to a dr and get it checked

I know the feeling! I am the same way! I love to eat food and sometimes I don't even realize that I am eating...I have seen it kinda catch up to me which for me makes me depressed as well...so now I'm going to order Turbo Jam and hopefully I'll be able to shed some pounds! I'm excited about Turbo Jam though! Anyone hada a good experience with it?

ha ha... even i have the same problem...cant stop eating even when im not hungry...or right after having my meals... i dont kno why ... i think its just a habit... i eat a lot of choclates,ice cream,chips...etc...i eat them everytime... but i do exercise everyday and thats how i control myself...im just normal...notfat nor overweight nor underweeight... i think u too must start doing some exercise daily...like some mornings walks...that should freshen up ur day..or even u could go out for jogging...try some of these..i garauntee ur weight will reduce if u exercise daily

Mmmmmm... Lemon Meringue Pie - my favourite. I find that I eat when I am bored. If I've got stuff to do, and keep busy, I don't eat nearly as much. Have you got enough to keep you busy?

The more you think about not eating, the more you want to eat. It's always the way. If you really want something to eat and can't stop yourself, just have something healthy, problem solved! Have fruit or vegetables, a handful of nuts is also good for energy and filling you up (not too many though!) Try looking up 'you are what you eat' in the UK.

there are a lot of factors that makes u eat a lot like keeping awake for night. u should sleep early, this reduces the amounts of food u need ..

Ok, first off, let me say that I have been there done that. Both with lemon meringue as well as cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake. Second, do you find yourself doing in around that time of the month. I know that I do. I have heard that the cravings is a way for your body to tell you what nutrients it needs. I don't drink milk so my body also starts craving ice cream, cheese, and yogurt around that time of the month. HTH
