DUI and Celebs

Ok, now if that was me that was driving down the wrong side of the hwy, messed up on weed and vicodin I would still be sitting in the jail. But Nicole Ritchie gets to take a picture and go home. Heaven forbid they put her 85 pound self in with the drunk tank. I would almost be willing to bet that she gets off. Her buddy Paris got a DUI not to long ago and has had her case put off. Even with the best lawyer ever I couldn't get that kind of service. It is sickening when you see celebs that get off on crimes when a normal joe would still be sitting in jail. There should be an across the board punishment for everyone, not just special treatment. Lane Garrison was drunk just the other day and killed some poor kid. He will probably be sued to no end, but probably won't serve any time in jail.

I discovered there are much more 1) Mel Gibson 2) Paris Hilton 3) Vince Vaughn 4) Tara Reid 5) Michelle Rodriguez 6) Robert Downey Jr. 7) Matthew McConaughey 8) Haley Joel Osment 9) Nick Nolte 10) Keanu Reeves 11) Cynthia Watros 12) Nicole Richie ......this is ridiculous!!! what is going on they are suppose to be model for our children (yeah right)

I agree completely. If a regular person commits a crime they sit and sit and sit in jail. Sometimes they are put under the jail. When a celeb breaks the law I'm willing to bet they don't even see the inside of the jail cell. It is totally unfair how celebs get away with everything just because they are famous and have money.

She was sent home on her own recognitise(sp?). No way would we have gotten that kind of treatment. We would have to come up with every penny of the bail before we could even think about getting out.

I know! It seems just because your famous you can get away with anything! It's sickening! They act above the law! I wish there could be something done about it, but unless you are rich your screwed.

I'm definitly not rich, I just know if that was me, I wouldn't have even been arainged by now and would still be sitting there waiting to even know what my bond/bail was. But they can just have their publicist come and get them without any problems.

This boils my blood, also. These people are able to buy their way out of anything, it seems. And the really sad thing is that they all have the resources to hire drivers, so why are they out there driving drunk in the first place? I don't care who it is: If anyone breaks a law that is punishable by imprisonment, why should he be getting special treatment? In the case of these celebrities, they seem to get away with driving drunk or under the influence of "prescription" medications (which were probably not prescribed to THEM) and they end up with more publicity and fans than ever. I don't get how the human mind works in some cases...
