goldfish was the first fish that i decided to keep at my home but also the last ones i ever kept.let me relate to yuo the story.i went to the aquarium and bought a couple of gold fish.i kept it in my aquarium and all that.but little did i know that you have certai guidelines when it comes to keeping fish.anyways my fish were dead in the morning from oxygen starvation.i came to knweo this reason after they died.anyway they were the last 2 fishes i evewr kept at home! http://www.aquariumfish.net/information/essentials.htm http://aquariumhobbyist.com/artoffishkeeping/ http://www.yorkshirewater.com/?OBH=3071

gold fish - This photo shows a gold fish in a beautiful glass pot which gives the trauma of nature
Your story happens to a lot of fish lovers who are the starters. Gold fish is the most vulnerable and it needs vey much care rather than other normal fishes. Unknowingly all would buy the gold fishes for the first time, whatever may be te number,, they will keep on buying only them till they exhaust. But for the starters to take care of fishes and understand their reactions, we have to tame black moli, ribbon tails or similar kind. But if you have good huge aquarium ana a fish care taker along with you, you can opt for other kind o ostly fishes. Anyway going for a gold fish for a starter will make you a killer or make you inexperienced. So better go for other fishes.

I had kept gold fish in our small acquarium but they die very fast. The reason was not known. However, I dispensed with everything now and free.

I have a beta fish. They are great fish in that they require very little attention. I've had mine for about a year now, improving its home slowly. It now has live plants in the tank and seems to be very hapy.

i agree with u that gold fsh are really fussy and messy fishes to keep in the aquarium., but they are really good looking and adept very soon. If u can afford a little bit on time to be spent on them then they make really good pets. Iam sure that will get attached to them.

A Brief Summary of the Seven Essentials of Keeping Fish. 1. Match the fish with an appropriate home, which could be a Fish Bowl, an Aquarium with or without a heater, or a Pond. 2. Getting Started. The first few days of starting a Fish Bowl, Aquarium, or Pond are the most risky and stressful for the fish. Reduce this risk by following the advice given in this site. 3. Change 20% of the water twice a week. Use bottled drinking water for Fish Bowls and tap water for Aquariums and Ponds. 4. A least once a month give your fish's home a good cleaning. 5. Twice a day feed your fish the correct floating food, so they get plenty to eat. Be sure all the food is eaten, and none of the food is left to pollute the water. 6. Every day look carefully at your fish for Signs of Stress and Disease. If you see Signs of Stress and Disease, immediately give your fish the Recommended Treatment. 7. Also carefully look at your water. If the water is cloudy, foamy, or smelly, take immediate corrective action. Each of these seven essentials of keeping fish is explained and then discussed in greater detail below on this page.
