Lots of things are being done - all over Europe for instance there is a big move to switch to renewable energy like wind power that doesn't emit CO2. Unfortunately all our efforts are being cancelled out by the Americans and Chinese who keep burning oil and coal and pumping out the CO2. Makes you wonder why we're bothering, really, as we're just giving them a free ride on our efforts.

I don't think we are giving them a free ride. Our ecomony will be stronger as it reduces our need for imported energy (this also makes us more secure). It also means we have a massive head start in the technology for renewable energy which we can later sell to the Chinese and US when the oil runs out...

As mentioned in a another reply, Al Gore in his film talks about the ways in which we can stop gloabl warming. I started a discussion recently about the $25million prize being offered by Al Gore and Sir Richard Branson for the person who come sup with a solution. People are stating the get very serious about this now. For the record, I strongly believe that we can stop global warming and have even started a website on the subject - www.microgreen.co.uk - although please note that it's nowhere near finished yet!

You need to watch 'An Inconvenient Truth' with Al Gore. It is actually a very interesting movie. Al Gore has made some major steps in preventing global warming. He has travelled all over the world speaking at seminars that educate people on the effects of global warming. And I believe that educating people is the key. I guarantee that there are many, many people who don't even know what global warming is. Global warming will never cease to exist because we are an industrialized world. Almost everything we use to make things come from power plants. And if we didn't have these plants, we wouldn't have cars, we wouldn't have televisions, the list goes on. And we are too selfish of a world to stop being so materialistic. We live in a very fast paced world, and the chances of that changing are not good. Global warming is going to have to wipe out the human race before anything can change. Human beings are going to have to start over by scratch. And I believe tha global warming will wipe out all mankind, including animals and bacteria. It won't have for thousands of years, but it will happen eventually.
