I have a registered Yorkshire Terrier that was supposed to weigh 5-7 lbs. He now weighs 25 lbs. Anyone else have one like this?

yorkies are supposed to weigh up to 3.5 kilos right? my yorkie now weighs 3.8 ilos. he's a little overweight compared to yours. i fed mine puppy food up until he was more than 10 months old that's why he got bigger than he was supposed to, but yours is super overweight! woah! but the important thing is that you love him and he's happy. can you post a picture? my yorkie weighed only 850 grams when i brought him home.

Even though he is registered a yorkie he has turned out to be more like a silkey. He is a little overweight but for his bone and body size he is not all that bad. He still has that I'm bad attitude and thinks he is as big as everything out there.

I got the papers that says so. He actually looks like the silky terrier which is a larger breed of yorkie. He is a beautiful dog and his coat is fantastic but he is a super over-weight yorkie. I brought him home in my pocket, he weighed 1 1/2 lbs. Boy, did he change!!

I do not have a yorkie, but I do have a friend that has one. Hers too is overweight, but not as much as yours. This breed is notorous for being overweight, and they have many health problems because of it. Please put your dog on a diet before you cause major health problems that can not be recersed. The heart is the most important thing to consider when the dog is overweight and the back. Don't feed any food from the table because they gain wieght and can not digest human food as well as their own kind.
