Why $$$ does not give happiness

Why $$ does not give happiness ?????? "gains in happiness that might have been expected to result from growth in absolute income have not materialized because of the ways in which people in affluent societies have generally spent their incomes."

In my opinion the reason $$$ does not give happiness the moment the money disappears, our happiness is shattered especially if your happiness depends on it. True happiness is unaffected by circumstantial changes or difficulties.

money don't give happiness because we need not only of material things, real hppiness i think it depends most on something else than material
