im interested in investing. Short term investment is quite risky but there are shares called index-tracker that beat managed fund most of the time. Index tracker is a fund that attempts to emulate the performance of a particular index. It does this by owning the same shares in the same proportion as the index it tracks. The managers of these funds make no decisions as to which shares to buy they simply follow the index. I dont know what u call this one in singapore but in the uk it is called index tracker.

I know what you mean. In Singapore, we call them ETFs. But they are not really popular here yet, the concept is still very new here, people are still adjusting around the idea.

hi,why you have interest in shares..its a game like snake and ladder...still you want to buy shares..1]buy when index points are less/any sudden crashes in share market that is secondery market.2]Identify companies with strong basics and profit announcing people and back ground of promotors.3] for SAFE purchases buy in public issues with good back ground companies.
