What do you think of the toy Butterscotch the Pony? Worth it?

I was thinking about this toy for Christmas for my 3 1/2 year old. Any input? And am a little leary about spending close to $300 on a robot that doesn't walk, munches on a carrot and can have it's hair brushed? Any opinions of how your children are reacting to the toy?

My kids loved that thing. It was on display at Wal-mart when we walked in one day. They spent 10 minutes playing with it and afterwards the girls were begging me to buy one. I could never afford it but it looks really cool. They could ride it too, although the demo at wal-mart didn't allow it. For a little girl that loves ponies and can't have the real thing I think it would be worth it--if you have the money. I wouldn't break the bank to get it, personally.

I actually didn't know they could sit on it, thats really cool. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if it's one of the fad toys that collects dust after. Thanks for your input!

I only guessed you could sit on it. The sign at wal-mart said not to but I looked close at the toy and it looks as if you can (like it might move up and down to simulate walking. You would have to check the box, though. I think you would have to decide quickly because they will probably go fast.

Yeah, I can see in your situation with three young kids a toy like that would probably get a lot of play and a purchase of the much money could easily be justified, maybe when my new baby arrives and gets a little older, then I could probably pick up this pony for much cheaper on ebay or something.
