I would like to believe so. The universe is "infinite." I find it difficult to imagine Earth being unique.

Nope. It's only our imagination that takes us where we want to go. Sometimes literally.:)
If you believe in God and in His words (The Bible) whatever science can come up to prove that there is such a planet, will only just be for entertainment value.
