Star Trek or Star Wars?

As a long-time fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek, I haven't noticed any particular "hatred" between fans of either series. Star Trek fans, of course, can say that their favorite franchise has been around longer and has far more of a "big story" than George Lucas' six-Episode Star Wars saga, while Star Wars fans can say their favorite franchise revolutionized film making and the whole marketing/licensing industry that exploded into being in the late 1970s and early 1980s. My feeling is that each "Star" series has its pros and cons, and that they tell two very different types of stories. Star Trek is more apt to delve into social issues and philosophical concerns in a science fiction format, while Star Wars is modern-day mythology in a space-fantasy context.

I do not know any thing or have heard anything about hate between both fans. but I love star wars better than the star trek series. I am into the jedi thing and the their concept. I like the fight scenes and the cinematography and the special effects of the star wars series. which fan are you? are you the star trek or the star wars fan.

I love both for different reasons. I love Star Wars for its storylines and its political qualities, and I love Star Trek for its modern, yet futuristic qualities. It is so hard for me to hate either one of them because they are so different from one another. To say that one is better than the other is ridiculous and I wish Trekkies and Jedi fans would just get along and bickering about how one is better than the other because neither one is better than the other. They cannot be. They are too different to be compared to one another.
