Sites that pay for playing games?! Scam or not?

I hear a lot of people saying that some sites pay their users just for playing games.Is it true or is just a scam?Have you ever been paid by such a site?I am waiting for your answers.

There are sites on which you play games and get paid. One of them is prizee.com, but from this site you don't receive money , you receive gifts.

I haven't heard of sites paying people for playing games, but I have heard of gamers who build their avatars into strong positions in games, and then auction them to other people who want to play at a high level but haven't got the time to build their avatar to that level. I have not tried this myself as I am useless at games!
