im kinda sick and tired watching all the stuff... it was entertaining, then later, its been too much of human violation. you'll see too many stuff that are parental guidance and might have a bad nfluence of children who are not guided accordingly.. do you like watching reality tv shows? i watch just a few, like survivor, amazing race, america's next top model and others.. but like fear factor, its good when its proven your not that scared, having the psychological lesson, some benefits.. but its getting greener and disgusting specially of the eating part. and other reality tv shows which i dont wanna mention anymore... whats your opinion.

TV is suppose to be a source of entertainment - to get away from reality - and if you call these shows reality that's a whole other issue - I say get rid of them all and bring back the "Happy Days " years and entertain the kids

To be honest, I am getting tired of the reality shows. Some of them do draw people in (and then they can't seem to stop watching). But, the Batchelor is starting to disgust me...all of those women just wanting the one man to choose them. They seem to all be left hanging...all the time, and he calls all the shots. I realize that they could just refuse to be on the show, but I think there is more to it than that. I just can't seem to enjoy reality tv anymore.

to me reality tv shows simply appeal to the lowest common denominator of human nature, its dumbed down tv in the extreme. Also they are extremely cheap to make, take no thinking about and are a symptom of the increasing stupidity of society as a whole, people with only limited ability to think love them, its why the ratings are so high. We have its equivalent on mylot with the coke or pepsi kind of questions, the people who post those discussions will almost certainly watch that sort of tv programme. It is t.v for the hard of thinking, nothing more

the only bracket of reality tv shows that I really don't like is the search for new 'talents'. There have been too many of them sprouting around like mushrooms for the said purpose of getting new 'talented' personalities. People have overlooked these activities. Old artists are being put aside giving places for the new ones. Consequently, that's where quality of performances decline. Most of the old or former performers are much better than the winners of this kind of reality tv shows. Yet, new ones are given more priorities just for the sake of having fresh faces on screen. Quality is almost out of the way.

i do agree firefae, its getting just new faces and stuffs to freshen public eyes while the quality declines. i give you a plus.

reality tv shows actually manipulating emotion of human being. as example you have to send sms using your handphone to vote for your favourite participant. you lost your money and the producer smiles when the statistic of voting produced. what if 12 million of people voting in one tv reality shows. how much the producer will earn? audience easily wasting their money into something unneeded. what a waste. and dont forget, which party get the most benefit from this kind of shows.

I agree with you, I really don't care for them all that much. I will still watch them though, mostly because my wife loves to watch a couple of them. Most of the time I just spend the hour making fun of the show and the people on it? Am i evil?

Most reality shows I don't like. I am not sure why they are so popular. The only one I do like is the Biggest Loser because at least it's a show for a good cause. Weight loss is a great thing, even though with some of the things they are a bit far out... but at least it's to inspire others... the one that is very unnecessary is Fear Factor.. especially when being forced to eat bugs, YUCK!

hahha.. thanks, i like the yuck heheh... anyways, i think they want to do it anyway, eat all the worms and bugs, for money, you know... thanks again.

snakes in one's head - this is one of the scene that i do not recommend children to watch. actually this is not disgusting, but then it is one of the examples that im talking about
i agree with you. at first it is very entertaining especially reality shows that was really engaging with new innovation. But then after a while i become bored with it and pretty disgusted, because i think that some reality shows depict some scenes that should not be published to the public. For example in fear factor, there are sometimes disgusting scenes and i think it is not worth watching. I know what it is a test for one's bravery but then i still cant accept the disgusting side of it.

Hey there. I love some reality tv shows! I definitely love The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Oh and my husband and I also like Big Brother. We started watching it together about 2 years ago and I have been watching it here and there for about 4 years. I am sure there are other shows that I like but I can't think of them right now. But yes, I do love reality tv, just not all of them. I watched survivor like the first year it came on...

I don't mind the shows at all with the exception of Big Brother which is of course immoral and mindless filth. I like seeing the character of people brought to life, whether they have to lose weight or survive with little comforts or whatever.

Not all reality shows are like those programs you have mentioned it only depends upon your preference. I like Big Brother, American Idol and Amazing Race and all of them are reality shows but I don't like FearFactor so it all end up to your taste.

there's one time my uncle watched fear factor and then vomited. yeah..you guessed..the eating part. i think the directors and producers of these TV shows are the ones responsible for these. But i think they give rules and regulations for those who join so they won't be a bad influence to the children.

Think there is too much rubbish on Tv and although these reality shows are compelling to watch, its also just utter garbage and cheap way to make tv
