Somebody hijacked my topic

I've written on the same topic as others often, always because I thought of it and typed it then they come up under my listings as other similar questions. To be honest, I don't think most do it on purpose... although there are some out there that will do anything to make a quick cent or two! lol

I am really sorry that someone did this to you :( I haven't had this happen yet, but I do see a lot of really similar topics being posted around Mylot. They aren't copy and pasted from each other, no, but they are similar in question. But that isn't offensive like when someone copies your entire topic or your entire response. I have seen one person in my topics who was copying and pasting in people's answers from earlier in the topic, and that really frustrated me. I can't bear to see someone else's work stolen, like what happened to you. Goodness, we work hard to make appropriate and interesting posts here on Mylot, and someone else shouldn't be stealing our work and getting credit for it! ^_^

That would so piss me off and I have seen others do the same! LOL I hope that mylot does do something.. I reported a few people posting on the same subject...asking if we shave down there... they were posting it like 3 or 4 times... Sheesh!

Nothing is worse then having your creativity stole from you. Unforntunately I think with the internet it has become such a big thing now. Many never think twice about ripping someone else off oline and I guess where everyone has free will to post discussions it's even harder to protect what is yours. Netiquette has gone down the drain in the past few years. When I first got online back around 93' creative content was yours now authors have their books turned into ebooks and so on and plastered all over. Sorry someoe ripped you off and I don't blame you for being ticked off at all; I'd be pissed too if someone did this to me.

Yes I have seen a few that have been very near to the same as mine. I hope mylot will do something about it but not sure what they can do?

Yes I have had this happen to me too.I don't understand why people have to cheat & steal here. I am curious if Mylot will take care of this for you, I hope so,it is very unfair.Maybe I should report the ones I've had stolen from me....that might be a good way to elliminate the cheaters.

If you know who has done it, just copy that topic (which is exactly like yours) and post it through PM to admin mylot. There are so many people who are indulged in such cheap work here. Yesterday I caught 3 persons who were just copying my discussion topics which has 750+ responses.

yes mylot will do something about, because they do not allow this to go on...so be patient he will get in trouble sooner than you think.

they will if they find it really abusive or copied from somewhere or they may take any other action against the topic.

I would be pissed as well. I think mylot put up something about this the other day. If you see this always report it and mylot will take the topic down. From what they said.

I have never had that happen to me, but I have had people copy/paste other users comments on discussions I've started. One guy did this twice to two different people on the same discussion! I reported him. Hopefully the Mylot staff will do something to rectify your own situation. That's just awful!

Are Hijackers & Spammers banned sometimes from this forum? or at least punished? I see a lot of them everywere!!

Dont worry ofcourse they will do something about it You know there are these desperate people around copying and pasting stuff for the sake of earning more DO you think with spamming they can achieve what you can? Not now ! Never! Mylot will see to it that the topic gets deleted So dont worry:)

i hope they do! One of my friends on here had her topic hijacked this afternoon. I reported them also and put a comment in their discussion. I doubt the person that copied the discussion will care though. I feel sorry for those that reply to these discussions as they have points removed when the discussion is deleted!

If this happened to me, I'll be really pissed off... Good thing you reported the user who stole your topic. It's against the rules to copy & paste other people's posts as yours, and what happened is definitely against the rules. Mylot probably have weekly maintenace to erase these kinds of stolen posts / topics.

Yeah I don't start discussions, but I see this a lot. It would defidently make me mad.
