What does religion mean to you? Religion means different things to different people. For some it is a set of rituals that need to be followed regularly. For others it is the belief in a super power. There are various ways in which people see or feel God and religion. What are your views on it?

Religion means to me a set of guidelines that can help me be a better person. It can help you get through some hard times too.

I dont like the word religion anymore, it sounds like a game or a group to belong to or a sect and need to be explained which god.... I am a Christian and I believe that explains my believs.

Yes, I understand what a true christian is. Some people do not believe in limiting themselves to one particular religion. Some others believe that God is a power that each individual possesses. I was looking for different interpretations of God and religion. Each one has a different outlook. Thank you.

I am a born catholic, meaning that my mom baptised me when I was still an infant. So there was no choice there. As an adult now, I am somewhat relieved that I have a religion and a God to turn to in times of happiness & sadness. It is most unfortunate that most people only turn to got in their lowest times, when they question whether there is a God? I must admit that I am always up and down, roller coaster ride with my relationship with God. For me some of the so called rituals I observe are sometimes just to please my mom, rather than to please God. I don't think that God is unhappy with a really good person who doesn't follow rituals, but I am certain he would rather us be good, sensible people. It doesn't really matter if we observe days of obligation or fasting. It is more important for us to be helpful and caring to people.
